Villain here is 23/14 in 72 hands, with 2/4 donk bets...

Wonder if he's leading with Kx, or possibly a set... more likely the former.

Happy to call the flop donk, as I woulda cbet about the same. With the board pairing on the turn, I'm no longer drawing to the nuts and also lost initiative.

Is raising the flop getting a bit too excited?

I would raise flop for value, he could call worse flush draws and we set up a bigger pot when we hit and can push him off weaker hands on the turn like middle pairs which would not fold unless we raised at some point.

I won't read too much into the turn pairing because he does not have so many 4x in his range and the only real hand that beats us is 22 since KK would have 3bet pre flop

Ah, of course. Should have realised we're only likely dead against 22.

If we raise the flop, what would be our plan if he re-raises or shoves? His aggression frequency was 31% or AF=4.0

I'll make a super big raise , he could be raising with worse fd and he could raise fold Kx and even if we get it in against Kx we are doing pretty good. And 44 22 is rare. And I'll give him some space to jam it him himself so that he could make the mistake of jamming in flush draws
