      Hi.

      I would just give up on this board texture with 88. Keep checking and hope that he does the same with his Ace highs or lower pocket pairs.

      I would often give up with lower pocket pairs as well, but at least with a hand like 22, if you bet here you could fold out hands like 33-99 so that would be much better than turning this hand into a bluff.

      Of course if the board texture was really favourable for C-betting (A22 for example), then I would just bet 88 here anyway. But QQT sucks, as it connects well with the Preflop caller's range.
