      NL2 Fry >> NL100 Shark

      About Me

I am 22 years old, Living in Cambridge, UK. I work in scientific research.. I'm sure no one wants to be bored by that so I'll stop there!. Also heavily into fitness/bodybuilding been working out at least 4-5 days a week for the past 3 years. As I see in many blogs fitness and gym is a goal of many. If anybody needs any advice on diet, workouts etc I'm more than happy to help.

I've played poker now on and off now for 4 years. Always loved the game but never been too good at it. I played it purely for entertainment reasons only. The main reason for this blog is to see myself progress, log my goals and hopefully learn a thing or two from more experienced players along the way.

      :spade: The Plan :spade:

I am going to be playing 6max NL starting at NL2, When I have 40bi for NL5 I will move up (providing I ever get to 40bi) but I will do what I can I'm determined to be a success story but time will tell I have a lot to learn, in all honesty I'm a bad player but I have something other bad players don't - the desire, will and drive to succeed

      :club: Current Objectives :club:

Have 10/100bb win rate at NL5 over 25,000 hands
Post 2 hands a day in hand evaluation

As I'm fairly new to using PT4, hud and such I was hoping by posting my stats people could tell me what player I am, what do my stats say about me. for a 6 max NL BSS.

Lack of confidence in myself is something I get a lot with poker, If I'm doing well I always think I'm just getting lucky hitting the right cards.

PFR should be +- 5 at most I hear from vpip is this correct? I need to stop limping then.

Really trying to learn and work on my game now

lol i wouldnt give any kind of advice like "no limping ever"but i guess at those stakes it's better not to do it.although limping in general is a good gameplan against some players in some game dynamics

I agree, but often with A small kicker if its 1-2bb I find my self limping every time when if I flop a A I'm not going to get heavily into the pot anyway I think I probably loose too many hands this way.

Even though at micro's I'm hitting about 15/100bb at the moment which can't be too bad though for a fry! :f_biggrin:

Promotion reasons and my more so my ability to tilt which leads me to casino games... I've moved my roll to stars... I haven't lost hope to be a winning player even at these levels

      Hi,

I was sitting at your table on Stars tonight for an hour or so, spewing chips to everyone.

You looked very solid - and it's always nice to see another UK player. Will make sure to avoid your table in future :P

      Good luck with the goals.

      Update

Good sessions today, last night was my first on stars and it started quite badly 300bi down ended 350bi up. today I thought about each hand, stopped spewing chips. was learning not to over commit myself to a strong hand.

Rather than a zig zag graph which I usually have it's a nice gradual increase so happy. hoping I can carry this form into tomorrow evening!

      Hi iFortunatus!

I've read your intro where you mention that you are into fitness and could give advice, well... :f_biggrin: I would be interested to get your advice on some things so maybe we could chat a little bit over skype? In return I could help you out with your game.

I've added you via community tool.

      Cheers,
      David

unfortunately I don't have skype, although if it be wanting to put weight on, loose weight, work out routines for gaining quick muscle I can pretty much give you a good easy way to do both.

I don't do the perfect diets of eating the optimum 6 meals a day like you should as to be honest it's just too difficult and a lot of people don't have time or simply loose track and enthusiasm after a few weeks of doing it myself included.

But I started at 188lbs this summer cut down to 172lbs in 6 weeks and now bulked up to 196lbs in 10 weeks

Run well again yesterday feel like I'm playing well still thinking carefully about each hand. going to get some volume in this weekend would be nice to carry on running good, but also looking forward to running bad just to see how I handle it as in the past I tilt far to easily.

probably not the best I don't even know if you can call it hand reading, usually I get to committed with pots. I'm using my hud more to understand calling ranges and using bet sizes to gauge what hands people may have.

I'm still struggling to get my pfr closer to vpip though even when I feel like I raise pre flop a lot it's obviously no where near enough
