      Hey fruitcake

Yeah nice name haha. Welcome to the course. As you have already noticed it is a very organised course and if you have improved in the last couple of weeks with the material you've looked at so far, i'm confident that the beginner's course will be hugely beneficial for you. All the best and get posting the homework when you're ready :]

      Regards,
      Luke

What is your motivation for playing poker? Something to do, to make $, enjoyment/fun pastime/hobby

What are your weaknesses when playing poker? Inattention, boredom, poor BRM, lack of motivation, tilt and frustration from playing well and getting beat

What does it mean to play tight aggressive? Play few good starting hands aggressively, rarely calling or limping into a pot :f_cool:

What do you think you could play differently than suggested in the BSS Starting Hands Chart and why?

I think for beginners I wouldn't really change anything. Hard part is sticking to the chart.

Do you have questions about your preflop play?

I don't really have questions when I stick to the shc. Playing Zoom tbls so don't really get bored waiting for a playable hand.
Post your hand for evaluation. done

What is the equity of AKo against the top 5% range? 46% - 54%

my Equilab doesn't have the hand range calc like shown in the video crushingNL50 ?

      Homework is hard work

      Hey fruitcake

Good work getting the homework done. posting all of your homework in one thread is a great way of keeping track of all your posts and also makes it easier for you to see how you progress.

      Regards,
      Luke

      NL Beginners course.
Hello, Im not new to NL Holdem play but fairly new to forums and poker school. Ive been going over the Basic NLH BSS and SNG material in the strategy section & find my play is noticeably improving last cpl weeks.
I play mostly at PStars unfortunately my account is not linked so I get no strategy pts but I can buy them easily enough if needed so no big deal I guess.
been hovering around for sometime and decided I should join the club so to speak. I need to improve my game and find your very organised poker school.
Hope to learn something and contribute when possible. :f_cool:

      Hi Fruitcake,

Homework #1 and #2 are done but I would recommend that you spend a bit more time on them and that you provide more detailed answers.

AS far as equilab goes you should be able to add a hand (range) vs another hand (range) and get an exact %.

      Try that.

      Best of luck,

      Bogdan

You are holding KQs. What is your preflop equity against an opponent who has 33?
      50.6% - 49.4%
How does the equity change on this flop: J53?
      26.5 - 73.5%

Question 2: What would you do in the following hand?
I fold bc BU chkd flop and is suddenly re-raising. I put him on a 4 possibly p4's. I dont have outs against a str8 to make the call profitably.According to Equilab I would need 5:1 PO or better to make the call. Implied odds may change what I think but I dont fully understand those yet enough to comment.

Question 3: Do you have questions about your postflop play? my pf play is embarrassing to a large extent, i feel ashamed of my task and want to quit now.

      Post your hand for evaluation.
      to be cont'd
      done.

      Good job with homework #3,

      Now onto homework #4

You should take implied pot odds into consideration when making your choices for Q2.

Implied odds are the odds that you would have to get paid if you hit your big hand.

FOr example, if you hit a big flush and the opponent has a straight or 2p, he would pay you. Usually weaker opponents or those that fall in love with their hands give you good implied odds.

      Is PF preflop or postflop?
