Hey guys! Some of you might have seen my old blog before. Many things have changed then. This is my 2nd blog, hopefully this time it will be successful :D

Anyway, for those who do not know, I've made a switch from NLHE to PLO. I have been playing PLO since around August, mainly plo5 and plo10 zoom. I'm not a big winner I admit, but the winnings from RB alone is pretty good. And I got 2nd in a 2.20 zoom tourney a week ago for $310.5 which increased my BR by 33% ish. Then won another $100 the past week, but am currently on a downswing. So I'm kinda back to where I was before last week, feeling abit demoralised.

Right now I am feeling a bit aimless poker wise, so I decided to do a small challenge, hoping to improve my plo and instil some discipline. It's almost identical to Kyyberi's plo project (pardon my lack of orginality :D ) but I think it's really an interesting challenge, so I'm going to attempt it.

So yea, withdrew all $1500 of my BR and left myself with $50 in stars. For guys who do not know about Kyyberi's challenge, it's turning $50 into $500 playing only plo using aggressive brm starting from plo2 until plo25. Might try to break Kyyberi's record in the process (although I definitely won't :D ) I won't be rushing through this challenge though

I'm thinking of getting plo coaching from Kyyberi and Skodljivec too. Really affordable and worthwhile for sure.

      Alright guys cya then!

Had my first small little session, only 226 hands mixing plo2 and plo5 regular tables. +$7.93 which is great start and a good change from my recent bad run (at least I'm hitting sometimes now).

Still early days though, will probably update again when I hit 1-2k hands.

Finally put in >1000hands. So right now I'm +$28.25 after 1084 hands which is a massive start. I'm like $18 over EV though, got super lucky in some spots, but made some mistakes too.

In today's session I was to the left of this guy who was playing 74/55. I was pretty card dead though, ended up 3betting twice with marginal hands which I think are ahead of his range. It's funny how twice I got 4bet and ran into KKxx, which are definitely the top part of his 55 pfr range :f_mad:

But I sucked out both times :D The moment he left the table everyone started leaving lol.

Screw that :D Couldn't resist the temptation to play yesterday, so I played a really short session (I'm being honest), only 97 hands. But +$12.26 :D Sick run good.

I found this hand really interesting, seriously what was villain thinking?

Got enough to move up to PLO10 today. Moved down within 100 hands  :rage:

For some reason my luck at plo10 reg tables just isn't there. I have tried playing them a few times, always had a losing session. KJxx vs KKxx on KJJ flop.

So for now I'm back at plo5. It's okay though, just need to win 2-3 BIs to move back up.

1405 hands, +$31.70 and $10 from deposit bonus. so $91.70 now.

I'd rather suggest you win a little bit more so that you do not have to move down in an instant once variance strikes. You can easily lose 5 BIs in a span of several minutes (as you may know from my experience :P ), so I'd suggest keeping a few buyins more in order for your shot to have more chance of success.

400 hands. +$7 today. But more than 2BIs under EV. Thankfully I could still win this session.

So now I have enough to shoot plo10 again, may luck be better this time.

Earned about $5 from placing 15th in a $2.2 zoom plo mtt. Lost AAK3<AJJ6 AI pre KKJ flop so disgusting. Could have been much bigger :(

Not sure if I should count it towards the challenge, probably not? Hmm

I'd say you should stick to keeping this a PLO cash challenge. But it's all up to you of course :)

Yea doesn't make sense if I include mtt winnings.
Then shouldn't I not include FDB and rb too? ?(

Again, up to you. But including rakeback would make sense to me and would definitely be an option imo :)

Just can't get the run good at PLO10, ever.

Lost 4 way AI pre at plo5, was 62% on turn but lost lol

Then got it in 3 way for $4 effective with 89JTds, 49% equity. Drawing dead on flop lols.

Yup, pretty shit. Was $25 under EV at one point, then closed the plo10 table (I was 5 tabling plo5 and 1 tabling plo10). And guess what?

Yup, grinded 6 BIs back at plo5. So I'm going to be shooting plo10 again tomorrow.

      Hopefully no 3rd time unlucky?

And the hand that shot me into profit today:

      CO: $10.77 (215.4 bb)
      BTN: $9.09 (181.8 bb)

      Preflop: Hero is BB with Q T 6 4
2 folds, CO calls $0.05, 2 folds, Hero checks

      Flop: ($0.12) J 8 9 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.12, CO calls $0.12

      Turn: ($0.36) A (2 players)
Hero bets $0.35, CO calls $0.35

      River: ($1.06) 4 (2 players)
Hero bets $1.02, CO raises to $2.04, Hero raises to $7.14, CO calls $5.10

      Results:

      Final Board: J 8 9 A 4
      Hero showed Q T 6 4 and won $14.74 ($7.08 net)

Tried something different today, 2 tabled instead of 6 (1 plo10 and 1 plo5). It did work thankfully, was only a short session though. 86 hands +$10.23

      Overall stats so far:

      2879 hands
      +$65.14 (excluding $10 fdb)
      58.7 bb/100
      40.5 ev bb/100

      BR: $125.14

Sick win rates :D Definitely not sustainable though.

Not going to play tomorrow, I've lost in 2 sundays in a row :D

      Here comes a non-challenge related post :D

Played 2 mtts on full tilt today, shipped one and got 2nd for the other :D So insanely lucky in the hyper especially. Really happy I'm doing well in mtts recently:

      :s_thumbsup:

And I forgot to mention an interesting stat: I finished either 1st or 2nd in all of my last 7 final tables. Didn't realise till today, pretty amazed I can accomplish this. Bad thing is I only have 1 1st, 1 chop, but 5 2nd places :D
