I just wonder if there are casinos in London with cash stakes lower than 1-2 (I've been to Empire and Hyppodrome). I would appreciate if you gave me the address, if any.
There are some sweet tournaments in Empire. Are there any other casinos holding tournaments?

      Hi tQM,

the Golden Nugget (2min walk from Empire & Lsquare) play 1/1 £200 max and have very low rate (relative to 1/1 anyway.)

The Vic (Vivtoria Grosvenor casino, Edgwar Rd) also offer multiple 1/1 tables 24hrs but rake is steap.

The Vic also offers daily tournaments the majority of which are good value.

You seem to know London casinos pretty well. I'm asking if you ever finished in the money in those tournaments :)

Vic would be obvious choice imo, tis considered to be biggest card room in London and they also have automated card shufflers, which improves hands per hour ratio

      Right, Im with ya.

I actually live in Oxford (2 hours travel to LSq) and earlier this year I was playing a lot of live poker. Almost exclusively cash as 1/2 at Empire and Hippodrome is very juicy. £400 max is also well out of my BR however and they often (early hours of the morning at the Empire especially) play more like 2/5. For my money these are easily the best cash games I have experienced in London, being in Soho and right next to China Town means plenty of trafic at all times.

The Rake Races piss me off though. Pay £1 every pot you win (on top of rake) so that all the regulars that play 25+ days a month can squable over the total. To be fair it is ussually considrable but it encourages people to sit with £40 (min) and play a couple rounds before leaving or limp fold a couple of hours to get the 'visit.'

Only other place I have clocked up some hours playing cash is theVic but I think their 1/2 to be an inferior game than those previously listed and 1/1 10% rake+race(+beat beat possibly if they still run that.)

Tournaments, meh! Havent played them with any regularity since FoxPokerClub shut and dont like the formats of the 1evening events so when I make the effort to give up a weekend to go play poker I always want to play cash. That said I am told that the Vics regular tournament schedule is affordable (£80f/o and the like) and offers solid value.
They also host some of the big UK poker tours and run side events if you fancy multi day events.

To actually come back to your question - no, no tournament success worth mentioning though won and cashed in several one dayers at FPC which would never have hit the 4figure mark.
Im not a good tournement player and even I could see that the standard was abysmal so get stuck in and good-luck.
