      0.05/0.1 No-Limit Hold'em (7 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: PokerStrategy Elephant 0.60 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is BB with A:diamond: , K:spade:
3 folds, CO calls $0.10, 2 folds, Hero raises to $0.50, CO calls $0.40.

      Flop: ($1.05) 8:club: , 7:heart: , 3:heart: (2 players)
Hero bets $0.70, CO raises to $1.40

Should I have pushed all-in directly on the flop? I had 1.43$ and 0.7$ was exactly under 50%.

And what should I do about his reraise?

Push flop is best option, you are going broke here, so you dont want your chum to run off with some of your winnings if you hit the turn. (if he folds .7 to the turn you have lost that money)
You have to c-bet here, and if its close to half your stack you will be pot committed on any call/raise, so push it.
I think you can now see the answer to your question; what to do about the reraise?

Im pushing on the flop for my cbet here as youre too close to the 50% or more rule of your remaining stack.

In this case the Hero is getting 2.7:1 pot odds to shove the flop
The hand odds are 3:1 to the river.
Is this a situation where fold equity makes a difference? Does that make a bet/call on the flop more profitable?
Or does the fact the villian could have a weak draw or weaker high card also make up for the small difference, or does the possibility of a small pair AK kicker negate that?

push flop or bet/call because you should have the right odds
