Oh shit it's that time of the year again.
Start of the month => had to clear head after looong November. So I went to gym 3x in 5 days had 2 hours of floorball then partied until 6am, and my lower back just stopped working.
So I tilted some then went to france to see my pal, ate junk food back didn't heal much obv when travelling and walking.
And the spewing continued when I came back.

You can read my strategy thread, there I work on my A game. However I recently listened to first 47mins of Mental game (Tendler, 2011) and an interesting concept came up - the performance bell curve.

basically the frequency of your play can be summed as this:
you have a range of game quality, most often you play B game etc.

Watching new vids, leaning new concepts= you expand your A game
Improving how you play when tilted, tired, under adverse conditions=working on C game.

Theory is that you should strive to shift your performance bell curve up as a whole by working on your A AND C game so you play good quality game way more often.

As when you only focus on your A game your play like a superstar in the rare times when you are at your peak, and as a retard on steroids when tilted, but on average your game is all over the place but on average worse than if your A game was worse but C game closer to it as you can see in the following diagrams.

However, improving your C game is infinitely harder than working on your A game.
When you are 100% focused and play low amounts of tables you can use the rational part of your brain which is slow, doesnt multitask well tires out very very fast but works with pure logic and can change in an instant.

When your rational part of the brain gets tired (and it does that real fast) however, your unconscious mind takes over. It thinks instantly, can multitask infinitely, never gets tired, hell it manifests itself even stronger when your rational thinking is tired. It does so with almost no logic, but instead uses emotion and long engraved instincts and habits (Kahneman, 2001). Needless to say it's very hard to re-program and can only be reprogrammed with endless repetition you read about in books such as Mastery (Leonad, 1991)

So unlike in my strategy thread I will focus on my C game, post all hands I played when tilted and try to figure out why I played them that way and to ultimately try to fix the leaks, through repetition.

When I am tilted/tired; I will simply dump them here at the end of the day; as it is counterproductive to focus on your mistakes when you are performing, you should simply shrug them off as natural part of your game and avoid further making your game worse, and I will look at them when the emotional attachment has dissapeared and I can look at them logically. If you could comment on the hands as I post them that would be much appreciated.

I will also copy the op to my strat thread but Spewcember will be purely daily updates random hands and rambles that should lead to better my C game.

      Patterns need to work on
      1) Calling 3bets light / 3betting with total garbage when getting run over
      2) Not willing to fold when I was the aggressor/put money in pot before and theres a chance I *might be good* (but its clearly -ev and I know it)

just a thought: when I run bad I don't win at showdown so I feel the need to outplay people and start spewing/bluffing too much?

I mean I'm used to 7bb/100 winrates and winning money every session, guess when that doesn't happen I start pushing it artificially through reckless aggression/not folding when people 3bet me etc.

What would be your steps guys if you knew you do that and wanted to reprogram your sub- concious?

      Lol, so much spew!

For me it helps to have a default gameplan. So if things start going wrong I can revert to that, or if I notice my play deviating too from my gameplan then I'll just call the session quits.

ye I don't want to do that though, instead I want to train my subconscious to play correctly. Quitting a session and forgetting about it is just ignoring the issue and it'll always come back when you inevitably play your worse game in the future. Which can happen when you are moving up/playing good players, need to grind bonuses and are forced into long sessions etc. i.e. whenever your subconscious takes over

H1: he 3b 17% preflop, unknown vs 4bet frequency - this is a good hand to 4b with imo blockers, when he flats he plays worse.
Wont get into strategy but my clear plan was to bet fold flop and I just snapcalled because I had outs even tho im crushed vs AXs even.

Basically, my autipilot doesn't like folding when there's a chance I can have a lot of equity

I must say this is good, I'm back to heavy working out/sauna so playing A game is pretty much out of the question right now as I'm fucked up so often.
It's nice to have something to work on instead of dismissing stuff as "I was tilted no point in looking over it ima just stahp tilting" which is unrealistic.

Also with every bad beat and suckout when you get angry at how bad you run variance blah blah, and you post all your hands when tilted and keep them in your sight you realize that it's often not the suckouts but bad plays that affect your sessions

      Meditate..

      Then meditate more

      After that u

      Meditate a little bit more

      Then u can

      Start meditating A LOT

So if u play 1 hour long sessions, or 2 hour sessions, u will have 5% c, 20% b, and 75% a in ur game.

Interesting books btw. Im currently @ page 40 in JT's book :D

Maybe it sounds a bit doll, and ppl that say they dont tilt, is just like  "ofc u do" "no i dont" "okay u dont"

Having time to meditate before every session brings a good run. Ofc its a short term solution, but if u run good, dont u think better, to have more energy for finding leaks?

how do i stop flat 3bets when im down?

Easy, u work on flatting 3bets vs diff. ranges, then u get the first bell curve u drawed so neat :D

Also, tilt is ur friend. If u didnt tilt, how will u know what to work on?
Bad players dont tilt/"i dont tilt" "sure u ..... etc" They just dont fully understand what tilt is.

But be carefull about meditating, because it WILL bring u money short term, but it has the -ev thing that is STORES the tilt in ur brain.

      ex:
Villain with QQ vs fish with AK. Villain rages at fish, u FUCKING LUCKY FISH. HOW CAN U BE SO BAD.

This villain says "i dont tilt" so he goes on monkey tilt after loosing 1 coinflip. In reality he tilts after loosing 1 flip. But in HIS reality it wasnt his first, because he remember unconciously ALL THE TIMES he lost a flip. "this site is rigged"

      GO CRUSH THEM ALL! :D

      Hey martinemem, great insights thanks!

I do meditate, when im down I listen to motivational audio (jack Canfield on self esteem right now, before Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracy, some power of sub concious mind dude etc)
do a lot of sports sauna weekly, try to go for mindful walks every day too. People think Im after a stroke most likely when I do that xD

That just makes you play your A game and go near the top of the curve a lot more often - it tilts the bell curve to the right.

Still I'm trying to do something different - hard wire my automatic System1 with correct habits so my C and B games get a lot better.

I think when I call and 3bet crap when I play my C game v aggrotards what in theory I need to do is try hard to maintain some sort of logic during those times and power through forcing myself to fold all junk hands innit.

      This is my
      Call 3bet holecards:

      3Bet:

I play very exploitatively so I can argue that some of the 3bets are +ev as I do it a lot vs autoprofit exploitable guys preflop. Same with preflop - fish min3bet a lot so those hands will be a lot calling min3bets.

But I think there's no point in arguing that setting rigid rules on what hands I NEVER 3bet or call 3bets with is pretty much guaranteed to be +EV.

      Actions tomorrow:
      1) Gym 7:00
      2) Go to Library - print ranges below:

      3) put on desk
NEVER deviate from them. Focus on not 3betting/calling even if +ev.
      4) every monday morning run filter
=>1 400m lap every time rule was broken. EVen when it's snowing.
If >10 laps =>have to run to the gym, ca 4km xD

How would you adjust those ranges that I never 3b/call 3b with that I'll try to program into my autopilot?
I'll do that only for a certain period until I'm automatically mucking them.
      Is this a good idea?

didnt think so yesterday, but this was a spew as well:
      Poker Stars $16.00 No Limit Hold'em - 5 players - View hand 2379757
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

      CO: $16.00 - VPIP: 19, PFR: 14, 3B: 6, AF: 2.7, Hands: 6812
      BTN: $17.85 - VPIP: 28, PFR: 19, 3B: 6, AF: 2.0, Hands: 939
      SB: $16.08 - VPIP: 64, PFR: 3, 3B: 4, AF: 1.0, Hands: 117
      Hero (BB): $17.20 - VPIP: 22, PFR: 19, 3B: 7, AF: 3.5, Hands: 1325159
      UTG: $22.75 - VPIP: 21, PFR: 16, 3B: 6, AF: 2.1, Hands: 3759

Pre Flop: ($0.24) Hero is BB with K :spade: Q :club:
3 folds, SB calls $0.08, Hero raises to $0.55, SB calls $0.39

      Flop: ($1.10) Q :diamond: 6 :spade: 6 :club: (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.77, SB calls $0.77

      Turn: ($2.64) J :spade: (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $1.64, SB calls $1.64

      River: ($5.92) J :diamond: (2 players)
SB bets $13.12, Hero calls $13.12

Pattern2: Not willing to fold when I can have equity/can be good/find reasons to call even though both intuition and logic tells me it's-ev.

Especially after I have been the aggressor/put large emount of money in the pot
I have set the charts for never 3b/never call 3b as my desktop background rotating every 30s instead, should work out well and will be my focus this weekend and Ill re evaluate on Monday

      Another thing I do:
Got the "cool idea" to flat flop and get him off his set/2pair/strait on space cards cause nits are afraid of flushes innit :D (didnt know him.at all.)
He potted and I blindly followed through with my plan. That was bad in the first place cause I'm attacking super strong range vs unknown nit.
Also I can just check back flop lol, hands just butchered

So pattern: following through with a plan no matter what

      Hey LemOn36,

The Mental Game of Poker is a copyrighted and commercially available product. Therefore it is in fact illegal to post a free link.

      Hope you understand

Illegality of linking not publishing copyright infringing material is not clear as the law is developing in the EU at the moment:
      http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/12/10/review_into_eu_copyright_laws_launched/

But of course it was wrong, didn't expect people to read this much; much less admins so kept a link for myself. Same goes for Leonard's book that was in PDF Format I suppose? Nevertheless I changed both to amazon links that should be 100% legal and morally correct. The Kahneman Nobel paper is freely available through Google Scholar - they do this for a lot of journal articles that are normally paid for through journal databases (this one was made public for sure tho); if google scholar search engine finds the PDF freely available somewhere they just link to it I assume if google does so it should be legally okay
