      Feedback thread

      Hi all,

      I can't resist the temptation of playing in the Pokerstrategy freeroll awarding a ticket to the $33 deadline sat to 8th anniversary Sunday Million because it's a community event, and in the $11 deadline too as a depositor... plus I've misclicked ths morning and bought a Step 2 ticket by FPPs instead of an Omania one, which increased my chances of facing the variance of SM a bit more :f_mad: Oh well, I had beat heyalisson in the HU championship, who then came 235th in the last SM (congrats!), so I do have some chance of getting ITM in this SM :f_biggrin:

      Jokes aside, I'm known as 'not a total fish' (an experienced regfish). Though I've never specialised in MTTs (and most of the MTTs played were 4-card), I've had a couple of 4-figure scores here and there, hope that the ROI in the fishtank + possible overlay + rail equity (I swear to provide a detailed and quite honest rail) will be sufficient for you.

      Plus the feature of the deal is that a big markdown will be offered to the earliest (so the most desired) buyers :)

      Event on sale:

      8th anniversary Sunday Million - $215 - $8M Gtd - Pokerstars, March 2nd, 14:30 ET (T# 868078392)

      Pricing:

      The action will be sold in multiples of 4% only.

      Up to 22 shares are on sale. Each of them will entitle its buyer to 4% of my gross winnings in the event, including the FrenchDawg bounty, but not VPP-based cashback. However, the price of a share will depend on the number of shares already bought - 'early birds' will get a discount:

      Price of a 4% share = $7.31 + $0.12 * <total # of shares sold prior> = $7.31 + $0.12 * <22 minus # of 4% shares left>

      So

      1st 4% share = $7.31 (15% markdown)
      2nd = $7.43 (even if bought by the same person)
      3rd = $7.55
      4th = $7.67
      5th = $7.79
      6th = $7.91
      ________________________

      7th = $8.03 (cheapest unsold :f_cry: )
      8th = $8.15
      9th = $8.27
      10th = $8.39
      11th = $8.51
      12th = $8.63
      ...
      21st = $9.71
      22nd = $9.83 (14.3% markup)

      Example:

      Investor 1, if buying the first 8%, should transfer $7.31+$7.43=$14.74, post that 20 shares (76%) are left and the price of the next share is $7.55.
      Investor 2, if buying the next 12%, should transfer $7.55+$7.67+$7.79=$23.01, post that 17 shares (64%) are left and the price of the next share is $7.91.

      The ordinal number of a share will determined by the last edit date of the post reserving it (so it's a good idea for investors to not edit posts but make separate posts if they change their mind and wish to buy more).

      An exception will occur if someone withdraws a bid, in which case forfeited shares (the cheapest possible) will be refunded and return to sale. E.g. if investor 1 in the example buys 2 shares but then decides to remain with 1, $7.31 is refunded to him, and investor 3 can then buy shares for $7.31+$7.91+$8.03+$8.15+...

      Please respect each other and don't reserve prematurely just to secure a good price (before visiting result sites etc.) unless you're really determined to buy.

      When posting about reserving share(s), please state how many shares (%s) are left after your purchase and, preferably, the cost of the next available share, to make life easier for the next buyer.

      I'll keep all rewards other than the tourney prize itself and the $215 FrenchDawg bounty. (I.e. all the cashback will be 100% mine.)

      Lol variance... Only several MTTs have been played lifetime outside of PS and FTP, but WH is where most of the binkage has happened.

      Disconnection protection: In an unlikely event that I'm sat out in the event for more than 5 minutes (excluding scheduled and deal negotiation breaks), I'll refund the stake money to the investors so that they end up freerolling.

      IO Cheap Seats e4.40 5th 20:30 T# 822526724 - busto A9o<KJs 10 bb UTG+1

      IO B Stg 1 e20 5th 21:14 T# 821713502 - doubled up early: trup queens > KK, classic :f_biggrin: , then again trips vs PP (squeezed 55, hehe) so I'm now the 2nd CL on break, outchipping the 3rd stack by 4.5 times :f_eek: ; after a dramatic HU, I ended up with just the BI+fee refunded, which will be played through as soon as I get the corresponding ticket from Paddy as a Tourney Championship prize.

      IO CS e4.40 5th 21:30 T# 822533061 - busto CO AQs<AKo, it was sooted, 3bettor was BTN vs CO (though generally tightish) so I 4b AI as a semibluff.

      IO B Stg1 e20 T# 821713478 - the key flip was AJo<99 (15 bb, SB vs UTG's 3x open); prior to that, I had double-barrelled A3 as a SB overlimper and then check/called it for 35%-ish of my stack on 25A63 and lost to 44 (rivered straight).

      IO CS e4.40 T# 822603963 - I was rather tight until I found myself with 16 bb, shoved A9o from an earlyish position and ran into 88 and AK.

      I 1-bulletted in all those 4.40 rebuyfests, so my chances of advancing were pretty slim, sorry.

      17 shares left- 7.79 next price..

      EDIT: or 18 left you made some typo I think
      Investor 1, if buying the first 8%, should transfer $7.31+$7.43=$14.74, post that 19 shares (76%) are left and the price of the next share is $7.55.
      Investor 2, if buying the next 12%, should transfer $7.55+$7.67+$7.79=$23.01, post that 16 shares (64%) are left and the price of the next share is $7.91.

      and in the beginning you said total of 22.. So you should probably fix this 19 to 20, and 16 to 17, and then the right thing for me to write would be 18 shares left- 7.79 next price.. Am I right?

      Thank you, it should read 20 and 17 respectively, the misprint creeped in from an earlier version of the post; your claim about $7.79 was correct, though.

      And ty for the prompt money transfer :f_love:

      Will it be OK to reread HoH or has the MTT strategy gone too far since then?

      How does this affect the next share prices?

      I like the idea of discounts, but do the people that paid later now get refunds?

      Or, does that block just become "unused" and the everything else stay the same?
      How much does the next person need to pay?

      Cheers,

      These cancelled shares just go back into sale :)

      So to the next buyer, the first share will cost $7.79, the next one (if he wants it) - $7.91, and so on.

      I'll update the OP now with this cancellation in mind.

      Fortunately, no one bought a share after Ganimator, so there's no conundrum.

      I thought that it's fine if further buyers don't get a discount after such a cancellation (as mentioned in the OP) and cancelled shares just go back, because those futher buyers had agreed with the price they paid, and the lower price of the recycled shares would attract a new buyer with more certainty. Of course I'm manipulating the demand :s_evil:

      VorpalF2F, all the calculations in your below post are correct :) And I've received your money, thanks :f_love:

      Assuming frankie is correct, and that there are 18 shares left, I will reserve 1 at
      7.31 + 0.12 * (22-18) = = 7.31 + 0.48 = 7.79

      Sent via PokerStars

      17 left. Next price is:
      7.31 + 0.12 * (22-17) = 7.91

      The next 4% share still costs $8.03, with 5 hours left... hurry up!

      Payments for all the reserved shares have been received, thanks for trusting in me and gl to us!

      A couple of things I forgot to mention:

      1. As I've partially swapped with FFRRAANNKKIIEE, the (potential) payout to him will be made only after we both finish the event (and he finishes the Big 55), because if we both get ITM, shares of winnings will partially cancel each other out and there will be only one of us sending the difference.

      2. No other tourneys are included into the stake, in particular, if I earn a ticket in a deadline satellite, it will be 100% mine (in the form of T$ because I'll be already playing in the event when the sat ends).

      I don't find it necessary to create a separate rail thread for a single tourney. Instead, I'll make a single, continuously edited, 'rail post'...

      ... especially given that I'm unlikely to last long :f_cry:

      I'm not a fan of excessive thread bumping in staking subforums. Pokerstrategy allows for endless editing of posts; I'll abuse it and place the entire rail report in a single post - the one above yours - with timestamps.

      Sorry for not updating - the keyboard of my laptop suddenly stopped working :f_eek: and I'm able to use it only after a reboot :f_cry:

      With regards to my Q8<KK bustout... yes, most likely too loose. There were a couple of annoying big stacks on my left (i.e. IP) so I decided to simplify my game pretty much to push/fold, especially because I wanted to go big or bust (playing with an average stack on the bubble isn't sweet, I prefer to own it and gamble for this purpose earlier).

      I thought I could have mixed some middle-card hands into my pushing range with M=16 (which is normally Ax + good Kx + PP, and mind that I normally play 6-max SnGs so push 20 'adjusted bb' routinely). Well, Q8o is offsuit and has too many gaps... still there are not many hands vs which it has <35%. I'll check it in HRC. Again, I should have thought about a balanced r/f range too, but that keyboard blackout made me a bit worried about the overall health of the laptop.

      I'll elaborate later, there are still 20 minutes left before British midnight and I wanna spend them at the tables :f_tongue:

      Am I missing something? Didn't you have more than 30 bb's? Can you please post the hand? Maybe I didn't remember good I was playing myself at the time.
