couldn't play many today, but did some warm up. had nice stacks in most tourneys and coolered or sucked out. . this one hurt especially. I was in FT position with about 45 left and 24 paid.

Played very well today, couldn't avoid coolers and suckouts again. I went deep in several large field tourneys, but couldn't FT.

On the plus side was a 2nd place in a 180 (was last place entering the FT) and made two other FT's. Last hand was AT<89s

Made some small profit today, but still stuck a few measly dollars overall. Was A game, but only B results.

A bit light on volume, only 70 tourneys, stopped regging too early and going deep in many of the MTT's for only small prizes hurts. I won't make the same mistake tomorrow.

enough shit like this please stars:

was having a great day, but no luck on the final tables, and couldn't win with AK anywhere. tons of suckouts against, and losing huge stacks hurts.

this was my day in a nutshell, -18BI 150k chips under EV is painful.

went semi-deep again in several MTTs and same luck, only mincashes. I'm playing well, maybe calling a bit loose on occassion given my edge. better luck in the morning.

Hi there, I'll follow this thread closely. Feel free to post any hand where you have doubts and forget about the badbeats hahahaha, we've all had too much of them.
Cheers, the EV will give back what ever it owes :)

      no problem.

today played 91 tourneys and dropped another $30, to $650 (85% of the way to a $50 milestone and 1200FPPs)

worst luck still, went 6 times AK into AA pf today, and another 6 times QQ into KK or better. even lost AK to AKs

I'm playing my A game, and going deep in several tourneys but not capitalizing.

several final tables today. 23.1% ITM overall,

satellited into the $4.40 again for $0.44 and went deepish finished for $20 at 120th. ATo shove on BU for 10BB into AQo BB cooler.

      finished 6th in a 60min MTT for another $20, cahsed 5/11 overall.

only managed 3rd in the 180's, also a 4th a 7th 8th and 9th. no luck towards the FT, or on it. it's encouraging that I'm there at least often enough, but hard to play with no hands, and I'm not raise folding AKs for 13BB at 500/1000.

      better luck tomorrow.

      91 tourneys, roll $610 (down about 15BI!!)

another frustrating day. at least I won a 180 finally, but got donked out and sucked out at every turn.. almost made me tilt, and probably tightened up towards the end, even so when I shove there's a cooler too.

MTT's were the same, shitty start, but I'm confident we'll be back with a big ship soon.

the 180 win was encouraging at least - but it came late in a demoralizing day.

I was HU against one of the better regs and even in chips about 25BB. I found a nice rhythm - I had been 3 betting a couple of his minraises, grinded him down to 1:2 in chips and shoved 44 over my minraise KK to end it.

fewer tables doesn't seem to matter - the only thing I can think is keep playing my game, and the wins will keep coming.

this from a FT. Interesting hand IMO. I should just shove, but somehow thought raise tanking was more +EV . what to do if you get shoved on by MP, or the blinds?

      Poker Stars, $2.28 Buy-in (1,500/3,000 blinds, 300 ante) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 6 Players

      SB: 31,461 (10.5 bb)
      BB: 44,788 (14.9 bb)
      UTG: 79,686 (26.6 bb)
      MP: 28,943 (9.6 bb)
      CO: 45,922 (15.3 bb)
      Hero (BTN): 39,200 (13.1 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with A T
UTG folds, MP calls 3,000, CO folds, Hero raises to 9,000, 2 folds, MP calls 6,000

      Flop: (24,300) 5 6 9 (2 players)
      MP checks, Hero checks

      Turn: (24,300) T (2 players)
MP bets 3,000, Hero calls 3,000

      River: (30,300) J (2 players)
MP bets 6,000, Hero calls 6,000

      Results:
      42,300 pot
      Final Board: 5 6 9 T J
MP showed T 8 and lost (-18,300 net)
      Hero showed A T and won 42,300 (24,000 net)

going through the games, I made a lot of nice calls - especially BvB, few mistakes, but even fewer rewards. (QTs<Q6s, AJo<QTo, A9o < 87o bb calls for his tounrey - even if he was getting exact odds etc.. etc.)

I'm well +ve in BB/100 overall, but under EV by a whole bunch in chips. I'll grind again all weekend. at least we aren't stuck much including rake :s_confused: + I'm even more motivated now.

You are losing ton of value preflop by not pushing allin oreflop, you'll get called by KJ KQ KT A9...
There's no other option than pushing preflop, if there wasn't a limper it would be less of a mistake, but with a limper you gotta push 100% man, you have a 4th of ur stack in, you can't do that, there's almost no playability postflop, and if they push over you, you are obviously committed with a 4th of your stack in and with a hand that's not very comfortable to pay a 3bet push. See his stack postflop, its around 19K, pot is already 24. Due to the preflop limp and the way he plays he is surely a fish. On the turn you have to reraise him man, always, you can't let him see a river for 3k chips, like wtf. Reraise so you don't give good odds to hands with 20% equity. Calling there is a huge mistake, I see ok the check behind on the flop though.
We'll need to do that review man! You look very fishy on this hand, hope its just this one hahhaha. No problem, I'm kinda joking :)

thanks man, yeah, I agree it was fishy and a bit of a mistake, though I had reads on the player that he was even fishier - as you see by his holding. limp fold would have been fine, and it turned out I had him dominated and was the max EV play - luckily. I posted it only because it was one of the few questionable hands I played.

as for today I fared a little better. I have brought us back into profits with a solid day, even though no wins today, I managed two 2nds, and a bunch of final table cashes.

      -------------------------

      Volume: 49 tourneys Roll: $838.64

      only played 40 $2.50's and 9 MTT's today.

In the $2.50's we were 215% ROI, ITM 30% and profit $215

I lost several big flips on final tables, and would have done even better, but I'll take it. 99<AQ and QQ<AK etc.. no sign of tilt.

the HU's I was behind in chips going in, thanks to using a strategy of playing for 2nd when entering FT's behind or even with the field and one or two monster stacks.

In the MTT's we cashed in 4 out of 9 for another few $$

I went deepish in the $2.20 progressive knockout and won some bounties there too. finsihed 113, and just finished the day at 27th on a $1 1K guarantee.. MTT FT is coming soon. Maybe tomorrow.

Going to start tomorrow hopefully a bit earlier than today. Monday might be best for a session review, or sweat.

I may post some hands later, there were some interesting ones for sure. Flopping quad 33 multiway for huge pot comes to mind.

good fortune. glad to bring some better news.

Robbed all day, can't say much more. Started out great, but then went downhill. Huge suckouts, and coolers - more than usual. some semi deep runs in MTT's but only mincashes.

Ended in profit for the 180's, but not by much. Might post some hands, but need a break.

      Tourneys: 89 Roll: $832.74

Repeat of yesterday.. robbed like you wouldn't believe. even FT'd a small MTT and went card dead for the last 20 hands, finally got AKo on the button and shoved into T5o.. of course I'm dominated and out to his straight. (this guy open shoved T3, hits a boat, then calls a 4bet w TT vs AA and hits a T etc., wish I could run like that..seems like only the total morons do on stars)

Had massive stacks alll over the place sucked out constantly, also lost AA to 72 ai pf, and KK to 52 same thing.

I won a 180 early on, which saved the day, but still - should have been a really nice cash day, and I played fine. I was way behind chips at HU and crawled back to win it comfortably.

anyway, at least we didn't lose anything. I'm going to up the tables tomorrow. ths is insane.

I looked for you on skype but not there, maybe soon. though my game is alright, I could probably be more agressive, but people don't like to fold, and even when I'm ahead and shoving lately, I'm ending up worst.

      Tourneys: 48 Roll: $873.85

Only half day today. got a late start, getting over a cold, and feeling a bit sick/dizzy.

On the plus side, I played solid today made some excellent reads and called off donks successfully - I still found some coolers.

Went deep in the majority of tourneys, and won one of them. I'm going to have to review the HH because it was so fast and a bit of a blur.

I was leading all the way to ITM and then this hand against the new chipleader:

      Villain is 29/3 fish:

      Poker Stars, $2.28 Buy-in (800/1,600 blinds, 150 ante) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 6 Players

      SB: 3,395 (2.1 bb)

HU was fun. Came in a little ahead, fell way behind and came back to win it. Lots of interesting postflop spots there too. Villain was fairly timid.

Can't believe I got a fold here. I might call the river with A high myself.

Anyway, going to take care of myself, and get good rest/food.

I prefer donk betting the first hand against loose passive fish with little or no aggression postflop to get value from Fd A high, maybe overcards also, reraise bluffs etc.

Second hand I prefer to OR since the villain is timid, great plan postflop though, however thinking about calling with A high is a bit crazy, probably a little EV- to me. It's not too bad but I prefer not to. You probably have missed FD and StraightD on ur bluffing range but u also value bet all Qx and probably Jx for some value vs 7x due to the check on the river he probably doesnt have Qx, so I don't see calling with A high profitable.

yeah, normally I would donk out on that board too, I imagine the result would have been the same. If his range is really weak, then a flop fold would be disaster. as it is, he overbet the flop - which seemed like he's trying to protect from the flush draw.

Let's ship an MTT tomorrow! Good fortune.

      Tourneys: 90 Roll: $800.37

Sorry for the lack of updates. I had a rough last couple of days and felt a bit of pressure to come back. Not to complain but hit some very bad luck that took us below $600 at one point.

I had to quit playing saturday after two days of the most ridiculous beats and poor timing on top of that I noticed tilt creep in.

Spent today working on my game, going over some spots and noticed I was calling a bit too loose too soon in general. today I tightened up a lot on my calling and played mostly A game postflop too.

The results of the following session were much improved, even though I still got my big stacks sucked out and coolered, and went out 30th in a $2.20 $10k tourney for only $25...

I won one 180 and 2nd in two more. a couple other final tables for a 87% ROI day. I'm coming back..

We also cleared the milestone $50 and $25 of VPP. 11 days left of solid grind and I'm feeling a lot better about my game than yesterday. Should be able to pick it up a bit.

If you want to sweat Monday, then 1pm EST might be best for me. I'll check on skype.

this hand from a HU today. got flamed for it but guy was an aggro monkey and I went with my read.

      Tourneys: 74 Roll $847.73

almost had a great day, turned into a not so good day and ended on a win in a 180.

I'm able to build big stacks very often, but can't convert in the big tourneys, knocked out of big $4.40 for mincash and 20th out of 1000 in a $750 gtd. (losing KK to 89 ai pf)

the 180 win was my last tourney open and entered the FT in last place. winning it was a real triumph. I fought back from 3:1 deficit with 3 left 5bb and two 20bb stacks.

strategy was to play for second and let the aggro donk knock himself out. he ended up shoving A4 into A7 bvb (cooler) and was out shortly.

finally HU with a decent player went many hands and I fought back to just above even with this hand:

      Poker Stars, $2.28 Buy-in (3,000/6,000 blinds, 600 ante) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 2 Players

      BB: 158,664 (26.4 bb)
      Hero (SB): 111,336 (18.6 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q 8
Hero raises to 12,000, BB calls 6,000

      Flop: (25,200) 4 T 7 (2 players)
      BB checks, Hero checks

      Turn: (25,200) 6 (2 players)
BB bets 12,000, Hero calls 12,000

      River: (49,200) J (2 players)
      BB checks, Hero checks

      Results:
      49,200 pot
      Final Board: 4 T 7 6 J
BB showed Q 3 and lost (-24,600 net)
      Hero showed Q 8 and won 49,200 (24,600 net)

It seemed to tilt him because next hand this happens - his first open shove too. Insta jams it. thank you.

      Poker Stars, $2.28 Buy-in (3,000/6,000 blinds, 600 ante) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 2 Players

      Hero (BB): 135,936 (22.7 bb)
      SB: 134,064 (22.3 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K A
SB raises to 133,464 and is all-in, Hero calls 127,464

      Flop: (268,128) 6 T 6 (2 players, 1 is all-in)
      Turn: (268,128) Q (2 players, 1 is all-in)
      River: (268,128) 2 (2 players, 1 is all-in)

      Results:
      268,128 pot
      Final Board: 6 T 6 Q 2
      Hero showed K A and won 268,128 (134,064 net)
SB showed 9 8 and lost (-134,064 net)

I think I played some solid poker today, possibly a few mistakes (second barreling a fish in the $4.40) but nothing too bad. If anything I'm calling too tight during the week and too loose on weekends.

I'll go over my games again tomorrow.

Nice hands and good luck :)
It's good if you build big stacks often, though iff you have trouble in converting in the big MTT I can help you. Using your bigstack to bully other players, is the thing I do best in MTTs, if I get deep I'm kinda unstoppable.
Send me your email through skype if u want to have a training session.
