i doubt if i could have played this hand otherwise. I didn't have any reads on my opponent and i was out of position , i was just thinking if i should have applied pot control method which is check the turn and call the river

why wouldn't you try to get it in on the flop? As played why wouldn't you bet the river?

something tipped me off that he had a better hand .. i don't know why but he didn't seem like he was going to fold . On the turn it seemed rather a smooth call for me to invest more money .

      He had AA btw.

      then nh sir...

I get that too though, sometimes with a timing thing or whatever you feel like something is wrong. I was thinking about this hand for a while tonight and i don't think with AJ, a set, or a str8/flush draw (i.e. Th9h) a normal NL25 fish is going to raise like that on the flop. He may minraise, but he wouldn't make a "real raise." So obviously your read was right and you saved yourself some money. But wtf was he doing on this hand, he could have easily gotten all your money.

Without a read you probably played this hand the safest way possible, but with a read on him being an idiot or a tight player then it makes sense to change your line.

Reraise flop and go broke! He can easily have a worse made hand or a draw.

      Best regards,
