A look behind and challenges ahead [darkone's poker blog]

Hello to everyone! Since you spared a few moments of your time to read my blog, it would be rude if I don't present myself. My name's Kamen, I'm 21 and Im a computer science student. I'm Bulgarian, but I study/live in France.

Its been a year since i was introduced to the magic of poker. I have to thank Eurosport for that(yeah, back then they were airing EPT episodes). I was surprised to see poker in a whole new light - as a sport and a career choice , and not just gambling. The TV ads got into me and I started freerolling online. Few weeks later, I began reading books and searching the net for more information on how to become better in this looking simple game. As an experienced chess player(I have won some small tournaments back in my teen years), poker was really bugging me - I couldn't get how you can make the right decision without all the information available, and that even if you did, the result often is a loss and not a win. Strangely, that motivated me. Not long after that, I came across this site.

I was pretty active in the site during this year. I organised a study group, and tried to give my opinion in evaluating hands. But I never made my own blog. And I decided to write it as a present for my poker anniversary.

1.My poker history
Like everyone, Poker strategy offered me a big opportunity - I wasnt ready to put my own money in risk ,and the books that I had read offered nothing concrete. So, I started SSS, like suggested. In about a month I managed to clear the additional bonus, but the double rake on FTP on NL10 and some mistakes made my win rate just about break even. In the same time, I felt like I was missing the very best goal of poker - making the
right decision in the situation, based on the history/stats/reads. My bankroll wasnt enough for BSS so I started playing SnG's, which increased it to around 170$, just what I needed to take a shot on NL10.

It didnt start so well, I made some mistakes and lost some coin flips. I lost my confidence, so I did withdraw what was left. I did forgot that I had registered myself in a 5,5$ MTT in a tilty period. That tournament went really well and I ended having around $500. I had the impression that FTP had stronger players than other sites, so I decided to change rooms. Not long after that I entered the local casino with some friends and I couldnt get my eyes out of the single poker table - not rly crowded ,5-6 old men who were playing NL1000.I didnt have the guts to sit at that game, but I promised myself I would try live poker soon. Maybe a week after(I asked and was informed that the game was NL500 on weeknights), I came and sat with the required BI(Its rly dumb-made, min BI is 200 and max is 300 euro, and SB=BB=5).The game was ultra loose, and I waited for hands. After an hour of folding, I woke up with KK, reraised the button raiser, who called and called my shove on 27T rainbow flop.He showed K7o and after no 7s on turn or river, I did won my first big live pot.I didnt get too excited though, played(folded mainly) for about two more orbits and left the table.

My main problem on playing live was that I had no bankroll for that. The income of a non-working student is 0. So I decided I should stick to online microstakes until I had the bankroll for more. Of course , I changed my decision soon enough, when a friend proposed to enter a 15 euro small tournament in a card club in Germany( I live near the border, so it was like 10km away). I did pretty well, finishing 4th and taking 620 euros(two months later i finished 4th in the same tournament lol). It was only 3 BIs for the silly "midstack" ultra-loose game in the casino back at home, but it gave me the confidence I needed. I also became smarter. After two visits I started to realise who the regular players were, and I tried to avoid major confrontations with them without a very strong hand(which was pretty hard given the ultra-loosiness of the game). Some nights I didnt sit on purpose, but instead waited nearby, pretending to be playing slots until some tourist, having just won on roulette or blackjack, headed for the poker table, trying his "luck". I didnt profit from that game fully, since I was waiting for strong hands(both pre and post flop), but a good night or two could pay my rent, bills and other expenses for the entire month. I didnt need anything more, since I had other plans waiting - to Build a large enough bankroll online, so I could sit asured even in the 5e/5e live game and take full advantage of everyone's mistakes. I was glad, because at that time(and until now), poker had become my main source of income(I was a subject of jokes from my friends, who called me "semi-pro" :P )

Meanwhile, my Online bankroll reached 1000$ in less than 30k hands. I had a new philosophy - to play only in sites that had casinos attached to them, since casino players are the best fishes you can wish for.So I realised incredible winrates on NL25 and later on NL50.Its when I became the logical transition for every NL player from FR to SH.It came pretty easy, as my live play had prepared me for SH action.
My bankroll grew to 1500$.I was playing at Mansion and I started taking shots on NL100 on 888 and one night I lost around 500$ playing vs a 89/70 maniac. Needless to say, that got me off my game for some days. I stepped back at NL50SH. Then, in June a pretty bad thing happened, local casino changed the game to 10e/10e for every night, it was way too high for me to play in.

Having some debts, I had to withdraw some of my Online bankroll.Doing so, I crippled it at around 750$. Its then when WCG|RIder's attempt to make 10k for a month, just grinding NL25@stars gave me the idea to go grind the same level myself. Holidays were comming, and I needed money. So I began 10tabling NL25SH at stars for about a month and a half.It went pretty good ,for around 600$ profit with the bonuses. So I bought myself a ticket to Bulgaria and went to enjoy life. I did so without any bankroll management, and after only two weeks of dinners, mad partying, many bottles of 15 years old scotch in night clubs, strippers and so on, I realised I had spent most of my poker winnings :D . But It was fun :P .

My overall winnings for those 7 months should be around 2500$ online and 3000e live.

2.A new beginning
In september, I returned - a poker player with experience and no bankroll. At least i got myself a scholarship, so I didnt have to worry about life expenses anymore.
I started where i once finished - deposited 100$ at Stars, played 5k hand at NL10SH and then started grinding NL25.I was rdy to deposit more at anytime, so my BRM was present. After a good october and a terrible start of november, I decided I'll be better at some fishy site with a bonus to grind.I did well on the 210FTP tourneys(took 9 out of 16), and withdrew the 250$ i managed to collect. A 150$ profit for 30k hands and a month and a half came as a disappointment, but thats life.Which bring us to

3.My current plan
My old philosophy - to play at sites with casinos attached, came into work and i chose Everest Poker. The 200$ bonus was just what I needed.I deposited 250$ 5 days ago, and since then Im having quite a heater:

Im 6tabling(cant tile more, and everest offers poor multitabling options) NL25SH tables. My stats for now are 24/17/1.9/28. My bankroll stands at 690$.

3.My future goals

My main longterm goal is to establish myself as a winning midstake player.

My short-term goals
• Build a roll for NL50SH. 70% done
• Grind out the bonus at Everest.40% done
• Find my next poker room 0% done
• Study the concepts of HU play 0% done

Woaah it's kinda long. If you came this far, then you have my sincere thanks for reading the whole deal.Any suggestions/comments are wellcome.

Will be in touch!

My update
1.Two days and 2200 hands since my last post, the upswing continues.I forced this two sessions with 14ptbb/100, climbing my bankroll to 875$.
The games @ Everest are rly soft, maybe the softest I've ever met.A typical hand there :
$0.15/$0.25 No Limit Holdem
6 players
UTG Luicar72 ($10.18)
UTG+1 Leokenny ($8.45)
CO ronaldhinho ($12.40)
BTN Hero ($41.54)
SB payetafente ($8.12)
BB tigor234 ($48.74)

Pre-flop: ($0.40, 6 players) Hero is BTN A: A:
Luicar72 raises to $1.30, Leokenny goes all-in $8.45, ronaldhinho goes all-in $12.40, Hero goes all-in $41.54, 2 folds, Luicar72 goes all-in $8.88

Flop: :4h: :3c: :5d: ($72.97, 4 players)

Turn: :5h: ($72.97, 4 players)

River: J: ($72.97, 4 players)

Final Pot: $72.97
Hero shows: A: A:
Luicar72 shows: K: A:
Leokenny shows: K: J:
ronaldhinho shows: :4s: :4d:

Hero wins $29.14 ( lost -$12.40 )
ronaldhinho wins $41.68 ( won +$29.28 )
Luicar72 lost -$10.18
Leokenny lost -$8.45
I didnt win that one, but your all-in equity is pretty high.In fact, with some luck, its not hard to achieve
360ptbb/100 :D :D

My short-term goals update
• Build a roll for NL50SH. 85% done
• Grind out the bonus at Everest.60% done

New level

I'm making an update every two days as it seems . Last two days(sessions) were not as winning as the last ones, but still, winning enough(5.2pttbb/100 for 3400 hands), to get me a BR of 1000$. I will be starting NL50 from tomorrow.
Everest is rly a soft room, so I will be staying there for a while.
My next goal is to reach the 3000 summit points before the end of the month.
The final Nl25 graph looks like this:

My last big NL25 pot was against this 75/54 ultra aggressive donk

Hero (UTG) ($31.85)
UTG+1 ($42.95)
CO ($55.48)
BTN ($8.25)
SB ($25.15)
BB ($40.35)

Pre-flop: ($0.40, 6 players) Hero is UTG Q: A:
Hero raises to $0.90, Michafl raises to $1.55, 4 folds, Hero calls $0.65

Flop: :3h: :2d: A: ($3.50, 2 players)
Hero checks, Michafl bets $3.50, Hero calls $3.50

Turn: :3s: ($10.50, 2 players)
Hero checks, Michafl bets $10.50, Hero calls $10.50

River: :9d: ($31.50, 2 players)
Hero checks, Michafl goes all-in $27.40, Hero goes all-in $16.30

Final Pot: $75.20
Hero shows: Q: A:
Michafl shows: A: :2s:

Hero wins $61.10 ( won +$29.25 )
Michafl wins $11.10 ( lost -$31.85 )

Idiot could not recognize his two pair being counterfitted.

My short-term goals
• Build a roll for NL50SH
• Find my next poker room - Everest
• Grind out the bonus at Everest.75% done
• Make 240 summits a day. 60% done

@Adzi - Im glad you like it. But you still need a proper table selection, and to adapt to the players there. Also prepare to get runner-runnered a lot. My following post can help you.

New Level, same fishes
I moved to NL50 yesterday, and it was surprisingly the same as NL25. People are way too loose and passive, the regulars are weaktight and the maniacs are overly aggressive. I like my opponents :
$0.25/$0.5 No Limit Holdem
6 players

UTG ($18.75)
UTG+1 ($50.45)
CO ($67.42)
BTN ($78.45)
SB ($49.50)
Hero (BB) ($53.55)

Pre-flop: ($0.75, 6 players) Hero is BB Q: Q:
carina69 calls $0.50, 1 fold, nielsenvvs calls $0.50, 1 fold, Mourganra2 calls $0.25, Hero raises to $4, carina69 folds, nielsenvvs calls $3.50, Mourganra2 folds

Flop: T: :3h: :2c: ($9, 2 players)
Hero bets $7, nielsenvvs calls $7

Turn: :7c: ($23, 2 players)
Hero bets $20, nielsenvvs goes all-in $56.42, Hero goes all-in $22.55

River: :7d: ($121.97, 2 players)

Final Pot: $121.97
Hero shows: Q: Q:
nielsenvvs shows: :9c: :8h:

Hero wins $105.10 ( won +$51.55 )
nielsenvvs wins $13.87 ( lost -$53.55 )
carina69 lost -$0.50
Mourganra2 lost -$0.50
All in on OESD on turn is just rofl.Leaves thoughts about what did he call on the flop with
$0.25/$0.5 No Limit Holdem
6 players

UTG ($84.00)
UTG+1 ($134.65)
CO ($11.95)
BTN ($76.75)
SB ($51.65)
Hero (BB) ($76.15)

Pre-flop: ($0.75, 6 players) Hero is BB :7c: :7d:

Hero checks, El_Maco checks, NYBY69 bets $5.50, Hero calls $5.50, El_Maco folds

Turn: :4d: ($16.50, 2 players)
Hero checks, NYBY69 bets $16.50, Hero calls $16.50

River: :2s: ($49.50, 2 players)
Hero checks, NYBY69 bets $0.50, Hero calls $0.50

Final Pot: $50.50
NYBY69 shows: :4c: K:
Hero shows: :7c: :7d:

Hero wins $48 ( won +$23.75 )
NYBY69 lost -$24.25
El_Maco lost -$1.75

The lagtard(74/40/5.2) was just asking to be called down.

In total, i got KK vs AA and lost about 60 and finished the day with a stack and a half profit. And here we come to today, or

After every upswing,a downswing
Today was a disastrous day.I could think that I was outplayed, if 90% of the players on the tables were not glowing in the reassuring green(thats how i mark fishes). But hands like
$0.25/$0.5 No Limit Holdem
6 players

UTG ($80.09)
UTG+1 ($38.20)
CO ($41.35)
Hero (BTN) ($71.07)
SB ($52.00)
BB ($4.50)

Pre-flop: ($0.75, 6 players) Hero is BTN A: A:
1 fold, assorel calls $0.50, THE_BEST_89 raises to $2.25, Hero raises to $8, 2 folds, assorel calls $7.50, THE_BEST_89 calls $5.75

Flop: :9d: :5c: K: ($24.75, 3 players)
assorel bets $24.75, THE_BEST_89 folds, Hero goes all-in $63.07, assorel goes all-in $5.45

Turn: J: ($118.02, 2 players)

River: J: ($118.02, 2 players)

Final Pot: $118.02
assorel shows: K: J:
Hero shows: A: A:
this one were hunting me all over again. At total I had,
Three AA, one won a small pot and two were cracked - the up one, and another pair by 42o. I figured no1 could call a 10$ reraise with 22 or a 4 on a 422 board and shoved with confidence, then the lagtard showed 42o ftw.
I got KK 3 times, one winning a small pot, and 2 going allin against aces both times.I called a 3bet SBvsBB situation with AQs, and check-raised an AXX board. He showed AK ofc(thats the only questionable play I did that session). I lost two coinflips with AK against midstacks. Of all my pocket pairs, I never flopped a set,or turned one, after my opponents called every cbet I could make.I made 2 straights, 1 was on a 4suited board,so was pretty useless, the other one i missclicked and folded(lol). I made 1 flush, and my opponent sucked out with a runner-runner full house, after calling with merely top pair 4 kicker.
Im happy about myself, as I never tilted, which would've happened before. I remembered my goals and my plays were the same as always, my stats too.I was happy to play against those players, but the results were catastrophic.I guess, sometimes its just not your day.
Finally, Im stuck 6BI's, or 300$.

The last 4 days,I also studied HU a lot, read a book, some articles, watched some videos, and tried it myself.Didnt win a lot(around half a stack on Nl10), but realised it's not my type of game, the variance(and rake) being too high. I still find it a valuable experience,as now Im feeling prepared to play ultra SH tables or even HU against the fish when a SH table breaks down. The players cant change gears and adapt to the fact that we're only two left, and I like that. Never the less, I wont be playing any HU matches, but Im not gonna neither sit out when the SH table becomes 3handed/hu. I think that was my objective at the first place.

My short-term goals
• Study the concepts of HU play
• Grind out the bonus at Everest.90% done
• Make 240 summits a day. 90% done
• Recover from downswing 0% done

OK, had fun, back to NL25
I should have listened to myself and not play anymore today. But no, I made another 5k hands(lol). Was ahead, then behind, then ahead, and then after a series of coolers:
$0.25/$0.5 No Limit Holdem
5 players
UTG ($50.50)
CO ($5.00)
Hero (BTN) ($223.92)
SB ($73.55)
BB ($50.00)

Pre-flop: ($0.75, 5 players) Hero is BTN J: :9d:
2 folds, Hero raises to $1.75, SB raises to $6.50, 1 fold, Hero calls $4.75

Flop: :7d: :3c: :3d: ($13.50, 2 players)
SB bets $8, Hero calls $8

Turn: A: ($29.50, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $15, SB goes all-in $59.05, Hero calls $44.05

River: A: ($147.60, 2 players)

Final Pot: $147.60
Hero shows: J: :9d:
SB shows: A: Q:

SB wins $145.60 ( won +$72.05 )
Hero lost -$73.55
Against such lagtars, i lost some deep stacks in set over set and flush over flush situations.Did some semibluffs, all got called and no completed draws. The result is me being 11 stacks behind and rdy to go back to NL25.Ill be taking a break from poker till the new month however, I feel like I need it.
Current bankroll stands at 500$
I will move up to NL50 with 30 stacks this time, as I adapt to those lagtars and start calling down lighter, there goes variance sky high

My short-term goals
• Grind out the bonus at Everest
• Make 240 summits a day(did like 1000 more lol)
• Rebuild a roll for NL50 33%

My Monthly review

Last friday looks kinda scary  .I now realise I may have somehow tilted during that play, although My equity was at about -90(a great difference to -670 lol).
That's why,in december I will have new rules.

To limit my daily variance, I will stop my daily sessions after
1.Going +/- 4(5) stacks.
2.2k hands.

Next Everest VIP club tier is at 10k points. That means 333/day.At the loosest days, NL25 pays around 250/1500 hands, and since I'll be stopping after 2k hands or earlier, I guess last week of december will be pretty hot if I want to be Camp II.I also heard Everest is offering new bonuses every month, I hope I'll get one too.I also will try to calculate the actual rakeback I can get at Camp I level, doubt it will be more than 12-13%, but hey, better than nothing!
Current BR stands at 600$

Yet another update
December started nice, with a profit of 270$ over 2 days and 4k hands. I realised I shouldnt be playing during evenings or late nights, thats when Im loosing the most. Had some beats, sucked out once or twice,so I guess everything is fine. Surprisingly the points I converted to cash gave me more than 14%, almost 19% rakeback.I like that!

My turn to feed the fish
Last 4 days were kinda ugly. I played a lot(did 10 hours in friday lol),and Im now also 8tabling,instead of 6. But well, sets over sets, flushes over flushes, aces and kings sucked out in allin preflop, lots of times two outed.

Nice blog...
I read all of it and I find it pretty interesting. It's always good to read the road taken by some veterans of this site. Welcome back to the grind.
I don't play NL but I'm a bonus hunter. I find this blog cool and will continue reading it.
GL on the grind!!!

Thank you, Im following yours for quite a time. I never liked micro stakes FL, but your amazing run made me respect it ! :D
I would not say Im a veteran though. You can call a veteran any of the black members, and yeah, you said it - Im just a grinder :P .

Shi... err Variance happens
A relatively long 3k Sunday session ended with two buy-ins behind, with some aces cracked, and two set over set situations. I feel kinda guilty for the second, as I decided to check behind the turn with a top set on a very raggy disconnected flop and he 2outed me on the river. I guess he'd call with his overpair anyway, but still....
Today I didnt have a lot of time to play, 700 hands and two buy-ins ahead, puting my roll where it was few days ago, at 900$.
Well holidays are coming, I also have some exams in January, and that should make me play less(or at least I hope I'll do :P ). That combined with some money problems I have currently, may lead to a delayed NL50 move. Will see..

@Snodreliss - yes , they are. In fact , its the fishiest site I've been in(and I did some bonus whoring in a lot of sites). But it has some disadvantages, their range is often any two, and putting them on a hand becomes pretty hard.Otherwise, its easy - the idiot midstacks push agressively a wide range, if they manage to get to a full BI or more, they become maniacs, until they lose everything. The shorties are just soo bad(everest allows people with 10BB on the table, but they are just dead money). The fulls are either Loose-passive or weaktight. The last type is my favorite, as they play stats like 10%vpip/5%pfr/1% 3bet,and are willing to go broke postflop with their overpair or sometimes even AK high. The whole bunch of bad players is generally very good for a TAG with at least some postflop skills, but make variance pretty high,as you often get two outed without even considering the possibility :D ).Anyway, todays topic

Finally, 1k again
Its been a week before I could recover what I had lost on NL50 in a day.Happens,I guess. A decent session today, with 2k hands and 150$ profit.
BR now at $1040.
PS I actually wasnt tracked over the english community, which kinda sux, as currently I would be in the TOP20 for december. Im tracked to the russian one, have no idea why, and hopefully the support will retrack me soon.
Finally, the hand of the day, demonstrating the fishy power of Everest players:

UTG ($66.20)
Hero (CO) ($28.05)
BTN ($22.60)
SB ($25.65)
BB ($6.95)

Pre-flop: ($0.40, 5 players) Hero is CO A:club: A:spade:
UTG calls $0.25, Hero raises to $1.50, 2 folds, BB calls $1.25, UTG calls $1.25

Flop: T:club: Q:diamond: 5:diamond: ($4.65, 3 players)
BB goes all-in $5.45, UTG raises to $10.90, Hero goes all-in $26.55, UTG calls $15.65

Turn: 3:heart: ($63.20, 3 players)

River: J:spade: ($63.20, 3 players)

Hero wins $61.20 ( won +$33.15 )

Where to now?
Ok, no update for the last 3 days, so I'm dropping one today.
Got a heater until friday(obviously for me all fridays are bad), friday was a day to be coolerd in set over set and nutFH vs quads situations, but hey, thats poker.Currently Im ahead for today, and I plan playing a lot in the next 3 days, as SP are doubled for Everest, starting from midnight. Will see how that goes.
My roll is 1250 and depending on the next 3 days I might start taking some shots on NL50 again, and see how that goes.
As to the theoretical aspect of my game, I read all the platinum articles, watched all plat videos, and visited some advanced SH coachings(the coachings help me the most,so I'll return to some of them). As for my Everest VIP club grinding, Im currently ahead in pace with my 53%, but holidays and exams are comming, so I would not mind to take some more advance.I hope those 3 days achieve that.
Finally, a beautyful hand I played today.

Hero (UTG) ($36.00)
UTG+1 ($25.00)
CO ($40.50)
BTN ($94.75)
SB ($28.45)
BB ($52.60)

Pre-flop: ($0.40, 6 players) Hero is UTG :6h: :8h:
Hero raises to $1.15, 4 folds, BB calls $0.90
/////////68s is not in my UTG raise range, but table dynamics and bad run of cards can change everything

Flop: T: :2d: :7d: ($2.45, 2 players)
BB bets $0.25, Hero calls $0.25
//////////////called by a calling station,Im never folding a gutshot for 1BB, but raising makes no sence, since he's never folding something worth mindonking :D

Turn: :9c: ($2.95, 2 players)
BB bets $3.20, Hero raises to $6.40, BB calls $3.20
////////I had a read on this player, he was alwaysbetting pot with a made hand, so the draws did not scare me..

River: :5c: ($15.75, 2 players)
BB bets $16, Hero goes all-in $28.20, BB calls $12.20
///////as said, the third club wasnt worrying against this guy.Ship it!

Final Pot: $72.15
BB shows: Q: Q:
Hero shows: :6h: :8h:

Long time,no see(write)
Hi there!
As you can guess, the reason for me not updating could be either that Im not playing, or cause Im loosing :D .Sady, it was the last.A serious downswing during 12k hands and 4days made me reread my last post with sadness :P .Well, see for yourself

As you can see, I was on a major heater today - the best way to end a downswing. Although Im pretty sure my equity could be adjusted for at least breakeven during this devastating weekend, I made some post-game self-analysis.
My main mistake during those days was that I played during the night - something I said I would not do. Its fatigue and adrenaline related, but not only.Somehow, games are soft during the day, with the weak-tight and the loose-passive normal fish. But, during the night, my favorite(and most hated) type of player is frequent - the maniac a.k.a lag-tard.There is something almost romantic about these guys - If they dont lose their money right away, and manage to build a respectable stack(>200BB) they start to control the table, and everyone is changing their play accordingly.Playing against a lagtard when being deep is my main problem, as I let it become personnal. The variance goes way up,and adding the psychological factor, It becomes crushing. The scenario from saturday and sunday night was the same:
1.Losing a deepstack to a lagtard with some gutshot comming on the river, after he called his 8 high all the way in a 4bet pot.
2.Making it personal, starting light 3 and 4 betting, as well as calling him down lightly.
3.The result of calling light is me flipping or being behind sometimes, and as he continues his lucky showdown winning, his stack grows.
4.At the end, he gets his monster stack lost from another player(normally a reasonable one),and the big looser for the night is me.
A perfect illustration of this scenario is the idiot I met friday

UTG ($35.05)
CO ($42.20)
Hero (BTN) ($25.70)
SB ($199.30)
BB ($120.25)

Pre-flop: ($0.40, 5 players) Hero is BTN :9c: :6d:
2 folds, Hero folds, SB raises to $1, BB calls $0.75

Flop: :2h: :2s: T: ($2, 2 players)
SB bets $1.05, BB raises to $54.80, SB raises to $166.40, BB goes all-in $64.45

Turn: Q: ($287.65, 2 players)

River: :3d: ($287.65, 2 players)

Final Pot: $287.65
SB shows: :8d: :2d:
BB shows: :4d: T:

SB wins $285.65 ( won +$118.25 )
BB lost -$120.25
Interesting here is that Even BB(the lagtard) is at 120$,he's actually over 100$ behind for the session.Thats, before I fed him.You can see his retardness in his last hand.
Sunday was a pretty card dead period, with some set over sets and so on, nothing to be said.Monday was a day where most of the losses came from not being able to go to a single showdown, the flop quality was specialy adjusted for my hands :D .
Which brings us to today.I started early, and got 3 stacks before I knew it.That, and the updated SP made my emotional condition better,as I kinda realised that diamond status was pretty close.Thats why I broke my promise not to play in nights ,and grinded the limit carefully(with somehow weaktight folds for my usual style),until midnight, that is. My new goal is to become diamond, and well, some beginning players have very nice feedbacks for my blog,so I think this will inspire them.In fact, I dont see any benefits in being diamond(apart from the two high-stakes videos that I will enjoy watching), but the thought alone that it can be achieved by just grinding a limit as low as NL25,makes much more things look possible. So, after the points are updated,I sure hope I'll have enough to overstep my old points and achieve it in a few days.

Thank you! As said, playing with lags can be(and sure is) profitable in the longterm, but it maxes the already high enough variance on the SH tables.Add some deepstacked issues and you're asking yourself if its worth it :D

Same boring grinding
What can I say. Last two days were normal. I won 105$ over 6500 hands. No swings, just grinding it out.I have to fill the post with something, so I'll post an unusual hand - a very disciplined check behind with TPTK on the river:

Pre-flop: ($0.40, 6 players) Hero is UTG A: K:
Hero raises to $0.90, 3 folds, SB calls $0.75, BB calls $0.65

Flop: :3s: :9d: Q: ($2.70, 3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks

Turn: A: ($2.70, 3 players)
SB bets $0.25, BB calls $0.25, Hero raises to $3, SB calls $2.75, BB folds

River: :2d: ($8.95, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

Final Pot: $8.95
Hero shows: A: K:
SB shows: J: Q:

SB wins $8.55 ( won +$4.65 )
BB lost -$1.15
Hero lost -$3.90

SB was trying to trap whole day long.Too bad he never managed to do it :D
Besides playing, I joined some coachings as usual(will attend the special french multicoach one table tonight, the english was rly fun).
I also managed to make an excel sheet to calculate my diamond progress and if im in the pace.If my calculations are right, I have to overpace only 452SP more!

Yet another devastating weekend
I really dont get it.I can paste the things i wrote last week and it will be quite correct. The weekend is draining the small profit i make during the week, and it pisses me off.Friday was another coolering day, where in the range of 100 hands i had 5-6 coolers in a row,all for stacks, got it in with 65-80% and lost every time.5 stacks behind. Saturday - a pretty breakeven day, followed by SS suckouts again in the range of 50-100 hands.1 stack behind.Today - a card dead day, losing money from not going to showdowns.9 stacks behind for the weekend overall.
Im feeling stuck.I cant progress with stuff like that and it pisses me off.One thing to get my attention off those cashgames were the small tournaments I entered.Nothing fancy, got around 35$ from them. One more thing to be gratefull about is that after 300k hands I finally had a royal flush.

It may be one card backdoored one, but its still mine and I love it :P .
PS.Shouldn't have shoved there, should I? :D
As for the diamond status, I have around 100SP to overpace, and count on doing it tommorrow.
PS: It looks that I never had a winning friday.Call it superstition, but I'll stop playing on fridays.
