Hey PokerStrategy what's up? Jay from the Philippines, to make my story short, I played Poker for seven years without much success. Took online FR CG seriously for the last two years. Been 24 tabling NL2-NL5, played million of hands at the lowest stake with 7bb WR. My style of playing was influenced by BlackRain79 a lot. Tried almost everything from SH to Zoom. Now I'm playing FR Zoom NL2 since I felt like I'm losing my motivation at the regular tables. So I'll be sticking with this format for a while. Also, I played full time for a little less than a year at NL2 and NL5.. :D

This blog is for... well I don't know. I want to keep my self motivated to playing so I decided to create this thread and will hold myself account for posting regularly. I'm currently studying poker again, reading Verneers book "Building a BankRoll- FullRing Edition". My Goal is to obviously move same with everybody else. However, I still need to do my cashouts regularly every month, so I'm not sure how I can do that yet. My biggest leak is with mental game, and I don't have any plans yet on how to improve them.. Anyway, probably will be posting on a daily basis, starting today with Day 1 after my last session later..

That’s a sick amount of volume that you made in the past. I’m not sure, but maybe you played to many tables. That could be a reason you didn’t have time to find your leaks when you was playing, because you most likely played on auto-pilot mode I think.

Hopefully this blog helps you more to improve your game and good luck with beating the micro stakes :gl:

      Best regards,

Hey Man, Thanks! I agree, most of the hands I played were copied from Nathan's book. Honestly, part of the reason why I started reading other books like Verneer's book is to get myself think about ranges on my own. Nathan's book works pretty well at these stakes, it's like the blueprint. I played a lot since I also played full time where I was belting around 10k hands per day. I played 1.2M at NL2 around 700k at NL5 and a few at NL10.

      Hey Guys,

Didn't play any CG hand today. It's Sunday here means I normally play MTTs instead, cashed out $2.75 LOL.. I was reading an article written by BlackRain79 about which format to play. He highlighted cons and pros of three different formats CG, MTTs and SNGs. What caught my attention are both in CG and SNGs. He said that one of the advantage in cash game is steady income, which is something that I always want. The other thing is with how robotic you can be in SNG and still be profitable. Doing more away from the table calculations, memorizing push-fold charts and ICM calculations is one of the thing that always attracts me to play SNGs. The fact that SNG is more easier compared to CG due to stack sizes and other factors that comes to decision making is always something that attracts me. Honestly, now I'm confused @.@

Anyway, will be sleeping now and just hit the Zoom tables tomorrow morning.. :D

I'm done with my second session for the day. Probably put in 1 or 2 more sessions.
As mentioned above, I don't have any definite plan to achieve my moving up goals yet.
However, I thought I need to have something in my head to at least know how to go there. So here it is:

Play 2.5-3 hours a day, what will bring 2.5k-3.5k hands per day.
Take shot as soon as BR allowed.
      Continue Studying.

As of the moment that's all I have in mind. Currently working on 3bet spots, either I 3bet or I'm facing a 3bet. I think this is one of my biggest leak as of the moment. Here's one hand where I think I have some issues with. No reads on any player:

      PokerStars - $0.02 NL FAST - Holdem - 9 players
      Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

      Hero (BTN): 115 BB
      SB: 100 BB (VPIP: 8.33, PFR: 8.33, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 63)
      BB: 271.5 BB
      UTG: 160.5 BB (VPIP: 11.11, PFR: 11.11, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 9)
      UTG+1: 181 BB (VPIP: 20.00, PFR: 20.00, 3Bet Preflop: -, Hands: 5)
      MP: 37 BB (VPIP: 31.25, PFR: 25.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 16)
      MP+1: 98.5 BB (VPIP: 20.98, PFR: 8.45, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 146)
      MP+2: 86 BB (VPIP: 16.67, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 12)
      CO: 89.5 BB (VPIP: 12.50, PFR: 5.36, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 57)

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has K:club: A:club:

fold, UTG+1 raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, fold, CO calls 3 BB, Hero raises to 12 BB, SB raises to 37 BB, fold, fold, fold, fold,

If CO didn't call should I just call here and play IP? The idea was since he's unknown, I'm not comfortable 3betting the facing a 4bet. Another thing is, is it OK to fold on SB's 4b here? My though was 4b lite really don't happened that much at these stakes, probably more in Zoom given the nature of the format..

I did tag a lot of hands and will be reviewing some of them today. Most are 3bet spots, just checking if I'm 3betting in the right spots.. :f_drink:

Been busy for the past few days trying to find a new job. I've played few hands since I started this blog. I'll try to get into more hands/day the moment I get hired. Some few things I'm starting to notice in Zoom(though sample size can't even called a "sample" yet, so I'm not changing my approach when facing them yet)..

      - MULTI WAY POT
      - DONK FLOP, C/F OTT
      - GIVING UP OTF OOP, MOST REGS ON A CBET

Also, I thought I was getting more hands in an hour w zoom. Apparently, I'm only getting around 900 hands per hour. But I'm a bit more relax when playing Zoom compared to mass tabling normal tables. So I'll see the results after a couple hundred thousand hands..

Played a little more than 2k hands yesterday. I was up a little bit. I'm trying to make some adjustments with my isolation, as I think I'm isolating way too many weak hands.. Day just started for me today, will just have a cup of coffee while smoking then will hit the zoom tables right away.. Have a good weekends everyone.

Only played a total of 14k hands at Zoom today. Just started out playing this game a couple of weeks ago. Results is at 4bb way below EV of 11bb/100, but anyway, it's just 14k.. Currently getting ready for next month. Updating my tracker and daily goals for next month. If I'll stick with Zoom, I'm looking to play around 2.5 or 3 hours a day. That will equivalent to 2000-2400 per day.. Will still continue the book I'm reading as of the moment.

June 1 just ended, played 3k hands today. Decided to go back to regular tables for now. I just made a cashout which left me with a little below 40 BI, decided can't take on variance for now. Just made my June goals. I'm looking to play at least 2.5k hands everyday. It might changed depending on how many tables I'll play and which format moving forward..

Also, decided not to look at my BR or even graph at the end of the day. Will just take a loot when I'm going to cashout and focus on other stats instead.
