After many years of playing I would like to believe I am better at poker than most of the sea creatures I am playing against.

It is about the time I can say confidently, that I know I am better than them. And that is the reason I will keep this journal, to motivate myself.

      Long time goals:
      [list]
      [*] Get from $20 to $∞
[*] To prove that the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
      [list]

      Short time goals:
      [list]
      [*] Wake up before 07:00.
      [*] Tilt less.
[*] Re-read The Mental Game of Poker.
[*] Exercise at least 1 hour per day, all muscle groups. (Re-watch all seasons of GoT at the same time) :D
[*] Study (read, listen to) at least 30 minutes of psycology and philosophy.
[*] Write at least half a page of my book. <- This helps me to express myself better and is a nice output for any stress I might endure.
[*] Make at least $5 in profit every day I play.
      [*] Maintain a life. :D
      [list]

That said, I have decided to stick with normal speed (began with turbo) Fifty50'es at Pokerstars. I will play at the $1,50 level until I have the bankroll to move up.

This is my track record so far. I plan to improve it, obviously.

So you will change your game to regular Fifty50’s to turbo ones.
Is there a special reason for that, because you looks like someone that don’t like turbo games?
Good luck with crushing those games :gl:

      Cheers,

Fifty50es have a different dynamic that suits turbo play slightly better, as one can abuse the bubble sooner. And that means there are potentially five people one could exploit vs 3 people at a standard 9max game. But, I also do not like antes. I played Super Turboes at Full Tilt (without antes) and had much better results than with Hyper Turboes now that Pokerstars has a monopoly.

Here is a perfect example of how people play on the bubble. The micro was sitting out, btw :)

Weird call of the button here. It’s also bad for your win rate if he called with that kind of hands. At least you know you can’t abuse the bubble against him.

Yeah, it is weird for normal people. But you are right. It is nearly impossible to play against his species. I mean, if he himself does not know what he is doing, then how am I supposed to know how what he will do. :P Lost about $10 so far today.

Used my remaining money to play normal speed ones instead. I should stick to them instead. Thank you for pointing it out for me. :)

Can't beat the fishes. At least not today.

Failed the tilt test. Multiple times. No furniture was broken, nor any land based animals hurt in the proccess.

      Graph for "normal" speed games.

Never mind. Winning is not possible. A utter waste of time, money and nerves. An insult to normalcy.

Decided to deposit $30 more. Tried two $3,50 Fifty50es. Needless to say, one got donked by KQo vs my AKs. Got into a threeway ALL IN pot with AA at the other, vs 77 and KQo. It should come as no surprise that the 77 won with a straight.

Still, something good came of it too. Got five $1,50 SNG tickets. Used all five to play turbo Razz HU. Won all five. Thus a tip for all of you who have any clue whatsoever about Razz. Now is the time to play them, assuming $1,50 is worth your time, of course. (I multi tabled all five of them, took some odd 30 minutes) At two of the tables the villains just raised and re-raised everything, and after losing a few hands they just quit and sat out. :D The other three tables I had to work a bit for, but it was not exceedingly difficult, as the villains trying out other poker variants during this promotion have no clue what they are doing. I guess they do not even know what the whole idea of Razz is, nor that quad aces is not a good hand. :D

So, if you have taken time to read my blog, then consider it a tip to get some easy money until the promotion at pokerstars lasts. :)

Don’t forget the sample you play on daily bases is low.
So than it’s not to weird you have more days in that your running bad.
Hopefully it will turn around this month. Good luck with it :gl:

I figured the variance should be lower at the $1,50 level, when obviously the opposite is true. While anyone with more than two brain cells should be a winning player there, I seem to have received a significant level of nerve loss, and as such I will avoid those games. Am re-reading Jared's book, but more in order to handle the $3,50 games and above. Though, even said level has an extensive selection of Vulgaris Stupidus' running around. My favourite of the day:

      Poker Stars $3.30+$0.20 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t150/t300 Blinds + t40 - 6 players

      MP: t880 M = 1.28
      CO: t4060 M = 5.88
      BTN: t1750 M = 2.54
      Hero (SB): t2450 M = 3.55
      BB: t1965 M = 2.85

Pre Flop: (t690) Hero is SB with 8:club: Q:heart:
4 folds, Hero raises to t2410 all in, BB calls t1625 all in

      Flop: (t4090) K:heart: A:diamond: 9:heart: (2 players - 2 are all in)

Hero shows 8c Qh (a pair of Eights)
BB shows 5h 3h (a flush, King high)
      BB wins t4090

What said specimen was thinking is beyond me.

      Anyway, todays graph.
