I cant see how could you justify a call in this spot, your implied odds are just not good enough. Yes, this time you'd have hit a set but, the other six times you'd lose 2$ each time. Its definitely EV-

Also I'd like to hear a second oppinion:)

thanks, i knew i couldn't with call 20 obv but i wasn't sure with implied odds, i don't understand them enough to work them out on the spot like this, but thought with the massive bets then it may be +ev because if i hit i will deffinatly double my stack rather than call a call 20 raise then maybe get half stack if im lucky or whatever

It kind of easy. You hit a set 1 out of 7,5 times, if im not wrong, so 6,5 times you dont hit. So 6,5 times you call a 2$ bet and lose 13$, one time you hit and stack him of for 10$. Profit 10$ Loss 13$

      Thats why its EV-

The rule call20, if I remember correctly, is because you wont stack off villain every time you hit a set, so ist just a safe line.

ok thanks, i just wasn't sure with it being a multi way pot, it would increase my winnings for the hand with UTG+1 being in it as wel, calling that much of his stack makes him pretty much pot commited so that would change my odds for this if im not mistaken?

You might be right, but also they're both +- half stacks, so even summing up both off the stacks, your odds arent so great. Definitily want to here a judge oppinion on this how to calculate impl. odds in multiway pot :)

      hi
first of all i think you should raise pre
as played is a clear fold because you dont have implied odds to call profitably for a set ( check the call20 rule)
try to table select better and dont play so many shortstacks at your table

thanks srohack, i just limped in with the 99 because it says on the bss chart to limp in middle position and raise in late, is it ok to raise higher pp's in mid position then? i only raise TT+ in mid, should i raise like 88+ instead or something then? as played i knew it was a fold but i don't know much about implied odds so with that type of player (raising 20BB instead of 7BB with AQ) then his raising range will be higher so i may have been profitibaly been able to call, but i know i can't now thanks
