      Hi ,

Over the next 3 months I ll be playing poker full-time, and for that reason I’ve decided to create a challenge and, like the name says, 3 grand in 3 months, starting with 50$ ( Possible Re-load of 50$ if needed)

My challenge will be split into 3 stages, according to temporary goals and bankroll.

As to what my experience tells me, I ll be playing cash games, and mtt’s. If at any point pokerstars opens up here in the US, I ll be considering also sit n goes.

So focusing on Cash/MTT , we split it into the following stages :

      I – Up to NL10 / Mtt’s Up to 2$

      II – From NL10 to Crushing NL25 / Mtt’s Up to 5$

      III – A Journey to NL50 / Mtt’s Up to 11$

As to live poker, I ll take any opportunities that arise, to go to the local casino, and play the freeroll tournaments, Any possible prizes will count to the challenge up to only 50% of the winnings.

To keep me organized and keep track of my records, and due to the fact that HEM wont be accepted in several platforms, I’ve created my own HUD, Specific for Cash Games, MTT and Live Poker.

The plan is to play from Monday to Friday, around 8 hours a day, and maybe on Sundays according to the MTTs being played.

      Bankroll

It will be a little aggressive, but so is life and our goals, I ll never ask for easy, I ll never settle for mediocre and so this is my Journey from Zero to Hero.
I ll be posting daily on PokerStrategy , I ll be studying some videos, articles and some opinions on the forums.

Also I ll be doing some reading on some books, but we ll get to that later.

The Plan is set and so I ll say my good byes for now with :

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!”

      Hi Everyone,
      Happy New Year !!!

I ll be starting the challenge tomorrow, the 4th of January, and so far I've only played a couple of games, to get used to the action and I've noticed that the sit n goes, in betonline aren't so bad, as they actually fill up at an acceptable speed, and the competition ain't that hard, and so i ll be including them in the challenge as well.

Until this point I've played 3 days, around 2 hours a day, except on the 3rd day where i played 3 Mtts and around 4 hours.

      Cash-Games / NL 2 to NL6 / - 561 Hands / +$9.16
      MTT / 10 SNG 6Max - +$10.80
      3MTT - +$5.5

      BR = $75.46

To start it ain't that bad, but i must confess that i am still not 100% sure about this platform and if it will allow me to succeed with the challenge, but taking into account this results , one can only assume that from tomorrow and on, putting 6/8 hours a day it can only get better.

      Lets hope for the best,
      Until next time,

      Good Luck at the Tables

      1st Week

      Hi,

So one week has gone since the start of my challenge, 3 Grand in 3 Months , starting from 50$.
Before a dept analyzes I’ll post the data collected so far.

      Cash-Games

      NL2 – 800 Hands at a 36BB/100 ( $5.9 )
      NL4 – 1066 Hands at a 18BB/100 ( $7.8 )
      NL6 – 2200 Hands at a 12BB/100 ( $16 )
      NL10 – 160 Hands at a 7.7BB/100 ( $1.2 )

For an Total Profit of 30.89$ in 4226 Hands.

I haven’t played as much cash games as I was expecting, but this is due to the fact that on some days I played mostly Mtts and SNGs , but I will improve my hand number in the following week as I believe my results ( Yes , the sample is minimal…) are actually pretty good.
Overall in cash games I am feeling confident using my strategy, however there are a couple of problems arising.
I usually play MSS, but due to the fact that you can’t really get off the table and get into another one for hours and hours, at some point I have to start playing BSS and adapting my strategy.
This affects me in the sense that I was thinking of my BR according to the MSS Strategy and this is something that will influence how I see my BR and Level progress short-term.
Strategy wise I’ve started studying BSS, but still using MSS primarily and then adapting even though I’ve been tighter then optimal in that situation.
This is something I have to work on, and has been on my mind for a few days now.

      Mtt’s and SNG’s

      Mtt’s – Av.Buy-in ( 1$ ) / 19 Mtt’s / Profit = + $15.84
      SNG’s – Av.Buy-in ( $1.5 ) / 50 SNG’s / Profit = + $19.65
As I see , my journey in tournaments had a very nice start, and I am very excited about my game in Mtt’s, even though there’s a ton of things that I need to develop and work on, I am confident in a successful progress as an Mtt Player.
Worth mentioning stays my 2nd Place in the $100GTD , for a prize of 29.90$, with a total field of 42 Players.
Another one was the $50GTD , where I got 3rd Place for a prize of 8.55$, with a total field of 47 Players.
Prize wise , I also have to mention another $100GTD, with a field of 64 players where I placed 4th for a prize of 16.59$.
Analyzing stats for the Mtt’s , over the 19 played I have made the FT in 4 occasions , the Semi-Final Table on 6 times and 9 other times I have been eliminated in the early stages.
So like said, there’s a lot to improve, but I feel my results are far from bad and the way I’ve been managing in this tournaments is keeping me super motivated.

On the SNG’s , even though the numbers are higher in games and profit, I don’t feel so confident, I’ve been playing mostly the 6Max ( Turbo and S.Turbo ) and in the Super Turbos the variance is just a killer, plus I lack the skill to play them, on the other hand the turbos are very hard to fill quick, making it impossible to put volume exclusively on them, and thus I’ve decided that in the following week I won’t be playing SNG’s , or barely.

These are the results for the week,
Giving me a total bankroll of $ 115.
