Hi, my name is ArtemAce. I'm glad to see everyone of you guys here. I live in Canada and
I'm here to track my climbing up to higher limits.

It's been 1 year from my date of registration on pokerstrategy so I've decided to start my
blog. People say it positively affect your EV ; )

      MY GOALS
:spade: Stay in business. Keep grinding
 Accomplish Bankroll Challenge (once $1,000 bankroll is achieved)
:diamond: Play Hands per Month: 15,000+
:club: Beat Current Limit NL2 and Move to NL5 (once $130 bankroll is achieved)

      Details:
My goals are kind of general but very important for me at the beginning. I'll be editing and reviewing them regularly.

:spade: As one millionaire said, profit is secondary, the main idea is to stay in business.
 My starting bankroll was $94, hence I'm gonna complete the challenge by increasing bankroll by more than 10 times
:diamond: I've changed this number from 20k since I can effort grinding around 1,000 hands per session with ratio study:grinding of 20:80, 3.8k–4k hands/week during 4 sessions, and 1 day per week for study, I'll have 15k+ hands each month
:club: Once my bankroll growths to at least 25 buy-ins for limit NL5, I'm gonna move up immediately

The name of my blog is NotBB, which means Notebook blog.
Probably like many of you, I gather my content for blog as well as for learning by making
notes in my notebook because it's fast way to notice something while multitabling. That's about the name of this blog.

      ABOUT ME
For those who would like to know about me I'm ...

...gonna start from my experience in poker.
I started playing No Limit Holdem after I made my first deposit in February 2015.
Since May 2015 I started using Holdem Manager so now I've got 55k+ hands in my database.

Currently I study Project Management at college on post-graduate program.
I've got Master's Degree in Computer Science, I speak 3 languages and my GPA in college is 3.9/4.0
One of my main objectives is constantly gain and apply new knowledge about poker with the same success, equals to "GPA 3.9" : )

As for poker, I play NL2 and every time when I open tables or read new materials I feel strong motivation.

Here are some tools listed that I use

        - I use Holdem Manager 2 all the time when I play

        - Pokerstrategy.com Equilab

        - Google Sheets. I use it for fast equity or implied odds calculations as well as for statistics. I'll show some interesting things later

      MY GRAPHS

As I mentioned in spoiler above this is how I finished 2015 year

...and this is how I started current 2016

I'm gonna post last interesting hands little bit later

Feel free to ask me questions, leave feedback and follow my blog =) Thank you for reading!

First here i hope this will positively affect my EV :f_drink:
Good luck with your challenge, i also play nl2/5.
Questions : When you will try to play at NL5 ?
Do you use specific ranges for open raise and 3bet ?

Thanks man! Good luck to you with your limits too! :s_cool:
I'm thinking to move at NL5 in May. The thing is that I already tried to play at NL5 several months ago when I got 25 BI for this limit in bankroll.

As for my raise and 3Bet ranges, basically I try to follow chart from BSS strategy on Pokerstrategy.com with some exceptions when I play against recreational player. Depending on positions and actions before, my 3Bet range looks like JJ(in some cases) and QQ+, AQs, AK
I also tried to follow the chart from book Winning Low Limit Hold'em by Lee Jones, which is more loose. The result you can see in "My graphs" spoiler, 2016 year : )

I realized that the more tight and the less marginal hands I play on NL2, the faster my bankroll growths.

Any suggestions about Open raise / 3 Bet ranges on NL2 ?

Good luck! Im also struggling between NL2/NL5, started good, but things are going down the hill for the last days :f_ugly:
Funny that you say cause im also thinking about playing an ultra-tight game at NL2, calling less and folding more marginal hands. I think thats the way i started and it was going pretty well until i adopted some more advanced strategies.
      I've been using w34z3l's Ranges for OR/3bet ranges: w34z3l's 6max walkthrough - (microstakes edition)

Thank you! I'm pretty sure that you'll overcome your current limits in the very nearest future, as well as me :s_drink:
I've seen w34z3l's strategy, however never applied it. Is it useful only for 6max or for full ring as well?

      WEEK 1

      What's up guys

I had been playing past couple of days and realized that I have serious leaks in postflop line, in particular playing OTT. The problem is that I make fairy calls with marginal hands on turn, while I really should fold, pretty often. In some cases I over-velue my implied odds. Must work on it and mitigate this leak.

Another thing that I've mentioned, I play OOP more often than I should. However, I became more concentrated on tables compared to previous sessions, so that I've made pretty lot of reads on my opponents.

Here is my current whole graph and Leak Buster screenshot, 56k+ hands (sad to see my BU and blinds winrate)
So basically I try to find and write down as much leaks in my play as possible.

Hoping to hear your feedback or any questions

Your first hand: seems to work nice with the simple shove.... But isn't it always aces?

In the second hand i am like :spit: does the villain do here?

      Thanks man!
Usually I just raise with Aces in such situations. But that time I was playing with such a crazy maniac, so I kind of knew that he'll call most likely.
The thing is that AA (1st hand) and 55 (2nd one) I played against the same crazy player who either just had a fun or had the main aim of that day to ship as much money to my BR as possible =)

      WEEK 2. RESULTS

      What's up guys!

Here is my update with results of the week 2 of my Bankroll challenge.
Basically, results are not impressive. In overall, I did not so bad, could be worse, however mistakes were really insane, especially when I had some fun drinking beer and playing 6 tabels, which was so far away from my A-game :f_biggrin: That actually damaged my bankroll, you know.

As I've posted in challenge thread
      Hands played: 3,977
      Loss: $1.66
      Bankroll: $93.11
      Week: 2
      Graph:

      ACTIONS TAKEN
What happened next, I just decided to bring the situation under control and handle it. I repeated that it's business, not a game, didn't track my session result in HM and I took a deep breath during decision making.
I tried to make each decision more carefully, use as much information available about villain or just helpful as possible, and automate this process using odds below (second one is from Winning Low-Limit Hold'em by Lee Jones), or I simply had some upswing:) )

      RESULT
The result was not really bad: I played around 2,000 hands yesterday, at the 1st day of my week 3, so my current bankroll is $99.45 (profit was $6.34). :f_wink: Just to remind, I play NL2 cash full ring only.

      * These top hands I get just from sorting all the hands played during the week by Net Won value.

Comment about hand #4, my biggest loss of the week 2
Actually it was one of the very last hands of the week. When I'm finishing my session on time, I jest set "sit out next big blind" and only then close a table. Nothing special right? The special thing is that what happens to me very often. At the last hand of the session, on UTG position, I get hands like KK, QQ or JJ, AKs really freequently. And what I thought in this case previously was "F*$# yeah, get out the boat!!" (now if I get such hands at the end of my session I rather think "Crap..."). What usually happens next, you can see in the spoiler above :f_thumbsup:

By the way, guys does anyone have such problems with Holdem Manager 2 time to time like:

I'm not sure what the root of this problem is, butsometimes my screen just freezes for like 10-15 seconds, sometimes for more, and I just don't have control over this, so my timebank just finishes and I fold hands like KK or QQ:

      BTN: $2.08
      SB: $1.30
      BB: $2.08
      Hero (UTG): $2.23

      UTG+2: $1.87
      MP1: $4.30
      MP2: $2.25

Pre Flop: ($0.03) Hero is UTG with K :spade: K  - Come on, who is gonna play pocket Kings from UTG?? Hero folds :f_biggrin:
6 folds, BTN raises to $0.05, 2 folds

      WEEK 3. RESULTS

This pic was made in the 3rd week during winter storm, which was in the first evening of this spring.
Anyway, I decided to post at least 1 pic made during certain week or put one from previously made one together with weekly reports

What's up guys! I'm glad you came to check what's going on in my blog

I'll start by mentioning some updates, changes and corrections in my postflop game, like bet sizing. Also, I've eliminated my habit "Beer & Play" as well as didn't check my monetary result neither in Holdem Manager, nor in the cashier. And I feel that it helped me to keep calm during stack loses or other crap. So basically, I concentrated on the positive aspects of the game (business) and as a result, just enjoyed it) I really didn't know exactly whether I get some profit or I'm break even, or even worse.

So here we go, results of the week 3 of my bankroll challenge:
      :spade: Start/End: Feb 29 - Mar 6

Whats your raise first in by position? What is you flop cbet success%?
