do you get enough implied odds to call for set value? I always tought this kind of spot was a squeeze or fold. this case a fold. I would really apreciate some calculations on this but I guess is hard to get enough implied odds with a 20bb stack

It's even more difficult to get implied odds if your opponent has a loose range PF (especially if he's not completely awful post-flop).

If my calculations are correct ( I think they are not ) hero should get 8bb more on average everytime he gets his set.

I don't think that's accurate but I do think ingol is going to just say "easy fold"

Yep, hero would need to get 8 additional big blinds post flop to break even with his call. Therefore this is marginal call preflop. I call here if I see players in the pot having very high WTS.

Odds to hit a set are 7.5:1 if I'm not mistaken.

Isn't this a fairly simple squeeze spot?

Since we now know MP1 is a big fish, it would be a nice spot to squeeze, but I'm not sure if 7 hands are big enough sample to push 77 and against unknown I'd prefer to be a bit tighter.

Hello Fordz08,

Why do you call with SSS? What do you think about this play actually given the following circumstances:
1] You face a 3bb raise with a 20bb stack
2] You are on the BB thus OOP on every street after pre-flop

As played, Bet \$8 Postflop and shove when getting reraised. If not shove the Turn.

As far as my mind goes into this hand: Fold PreFlop and wait for a better spot

Best regards,
Gerv

since its nl100 a little bit advanced.

pushing is an option here you are far ahead against mp1s range (he is a fish even after 8 hands) mp2s range will be a little bit better but not superstrong because then he would 3bet so i like a push here.

calling is critical because mp1s range is so wide you dont have enough implieds against him in general.

calling preflop with 20bb is possible but very rarely lets say 3bb raise 3 callers pocket is possible to call but you have to be really good postflop in extracting value.

like in this hand when you donk and everybody would fold, then you dont get the needed implieds think about that. i would prefer c/r
