      ixxxxxxx,

In 2017, date still to be determined, we will launch a new rewards program that recognises your play on poker, casino, and sportsbook (where available) and rewards you for recent activity, not monthly or annual play volumes. As a result, from January 1, Supernova VIP status will become a monthly status for players until the launch of the new rewards program.

While we understand that the 2016 VIP Club changes have impacted some of our highest-volume players, they have had a positive impact for the vast majority of our players, improving the overall game experience. A higher percentage of hands are seeing the flop in cash games, player deposits are lasting longer, which along with other such trends indicate a more healthy poker ecosystem, with long-term sustainability.

As we look to the future, we will offer an even more exciting and engaging rewards program with a continued focus on recreational players. Here’s a look at what’s coming up:

Rewards for all of your activity
Earn rewards not just by playing poker, but if you are in eligible areas, for casino games and making sports bets on BetStars. You won’t be required to play on any specific product, but your activity on all products will help you progress on your path to earning rewards.

      Rewards based on recent activity
Currently, your VIP progress resets each month, but our rewards should be personalized to your recent gaming activity and profile, not your monthly or annual play volumes, to improve player retention and engagement at all levels. As a result, our current VIP statuses will be discontinued upon launch of the new program and replaced with a new program rewarding your recent activity.

      2017 Rewards
As announced via our website at the start of 2016, currently advertised Supernova rewards are for this year only. The value of rewards in 2017 are subject to change.

From January 1, Supernova will be a monthly status for players who achieve it in 2017, while players who earn Supernova status in 2016 will retain it until the launch of the new rewards program. The value of VIP rewards and monthly VIP status requirements for 2017 are still subject to change.

      What’s next?
Expect a detailed update on our new reward program later in the year, including timing of launch and more details of the program as they are finalized.

I am in doubt how to feel about this :f_rolleyes:
To be honest, at the end of 2015 I did not believe in Pokerstars strategy to reduce regular's gains in order to improve the fish rate and their explanation felt like one big excuse to boost their own bank account. :f_eek:
Looking back over 2016 I have to admit it seems there actually are more fish and the level at NL50/NL100 SH zoom seems to be softer, so I can live with the vip changes, because it did positively influence the poker ecosystem and i hope it will keep attracting fish....

      BUT

at the start of November 2016 i will probably reach the Supernova status for the first time in my career :f_cool: in the believe i will keep this status all over 2017 and i can enjoy bigger rewards etc. Now these positive expectations seem to dissapear like dust in the wind :f_eek: I do understand the reasoning behind it, looking at the positive effects they had with their 2016 changes, but I dont think they should keep squeezing out the regulars, because it feels like I am reaching the limits of my understanding! :f_mad:

Personally i think the changes they did to 2016 had a great impact on the games , of course for the lower limits , with much more fish around and the games are much softer now ,

When not knowing exactly how this new changes will affect us its hard to say if its good or bad, i dont mind geting rewarded if i make a bet or play at casino ( which i rarely do since i dont like gamble) but until i see how this rewards looks in detail i will stay positive and hope for the best :f_drink:

Really? My winrate has gone from 10-15 to -5 bb/100. In any given hand 2-4 players are fourtablers (on Zoom) and it´s turning up more of these 1 000 000 VPP-badges on NL2.

It depends what level do you play, I can still win in a more than decent winrate in micros. (NL2-NL5) regular tables.

I used to play at NL5 but nowadays I'm stuck at NL2. At least at Zoom I have the feeling that it's more regs after the change of the VIP-system.

Of course it has to do with the way one plays. When I'm sitting at home with a HUD, and my range-chart and colormarkings it's easy to spot the evil-doers and the few fishes and act accordingly but I spend a lot of time on the phone just playing for fun and that part has turned very hard in the last year.
