      how loose/aggressive was this villain?

      against unknown, i'd bet the turn for value and fold to a raise.

      i'd also call that shove on the river, unless he's been playing real solid. (which he doublfully had been :D )

      There is an old saying, dont go broke on an unraised pot.
      Since you've taken the pot control line, c/c river, as you having two pair doesnt change much,but letting him take another stab at it will win you more in the long run, as most of the hands that bet after your check wont call a bet.
      If you have a read that he is fish ofc(and he is), its bet bet bet.

      i agree
      even if you have top 2 pair a lot of straight are possible here + if he is bluffing he will shoot the river some good % of the time and if he has the straight you dont lose a stack in a limped pot
      if you decide to block bet then fold to his shove . i dont see worse hand shoving here
