      Hello Pokerstrategy,
My name is Cosmin and I play poker for fun for a long time now and it s about time to think about going full time!
So what s holding me back some might ask? well, I LACK DISCIPINE, oh and I overspend so all my profits for the past few months went on take away food, a new car, clothes, headsets I barely use, beer and the list can go on...
My main game is PLO cash and PLO 4-5-6 but I also play NLH live 100 or 200 when is a good table at the local casino and also tournaments NLH live.
OK, so my goal with this challenge is to build discipline and also because I lack time and I never played zoom plo before (I might have played less than 15k hands so far up to plo50 6max and plo50 hu zoom and hated it) I will play 100 hours in plo10 zoom pool and nothing else online. After I finish it I will have a database to analyse and make an idea about rake, volume and winrate in zoom vs normal tables and also most important I will upgrade my game.
So let s start, shall we ?
Also let me know what do you want me to post so I can keep you entertained !

Sounds good. How exactly are you going to build discipline? If you just decide "I am going to do it" without thinkin "how I am going to do it" you are hoping it to happen instead of making it to happen. Difference between dreams and goals are that we make plans to achieve goals.

World needs more PLO players! :)

      Hey Cosmin,

I don't know much about PLO so I will be following this thread with great interest.

I am going to build discipline by forcing myself to play the same limit for a longer period of time concentrating on improving my game and reading skills instead of going tankroll (25+5) up to plo50 and then cash out and start again from plo10 because I know I can not beat higher than that atm or even if I could my roll would be so weak that a few bi lost would be a problem.
So my first goal is to reach 100h on plo10 zoom pool and decide based on my game if I should go higher or study more and stay at 10.
For now 12:34h out of 100 and 10107 hands played

Not any more, i took a shot in plo50 zoom but decided to stay away untill i ll have enough bi and to play lower is allmost impossible unless you have planty of time to wait for weak opponents and table select to beat the rake in that format. How about you?

I have fixed your graph for you. Don’t forget that if you want to show a picture that there must something like .jpg in the end of the link to show it. Otherwise it’s not working. Also you can drag your screenshot to your post and than your picture will be automatic uploaded.

Further I wish you all the best with improving your PLO game :gl:

      Cheers,

Wow so impressive and admirable that you already have put so much volume into your game. I wish I had that kind of stamina!

10k hands in 12.5hrs is this
      a) very tight at two tables
      b) loose at three tables
      c) a mixture between two and three tables at a time

      Keep the good work up!

Maybe you could write something about playing NLH in a casino from the point of a PLO player. Do you have a special preparation or do you come from a Texas background? My only casino visit so far looked like this: Me being too scared to play NLH. So I was watching premier league on this huge flat screen and waited for three hours till they finally started the PLO tables. But then I enjoyed every bit of it.

Rhodriguez, I have been part of a coaching for profits group of nlh and I am applying their most basic strategy and it works well, there are a few regs/ decent players but the rest are gamblers and scared money nits and I have this image as a maniac because they see me very aggressive but I just have a nice preflop game and standard post with some minimal reading skills.
I am doing bad on plo tables to be honest because the games get very deep and crazy and I can t play my usual game due to bankroll being way too short for those tables but nlh are soft with ppl that want to have fun, chat and gamble some money while getting drunk.

      PokerStars - $0.10 PL Hi FAST (6 max) - Omaha Hi - 6 players
      Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

      BTN: 130.7 BB (VPIP: 24.61, PFR: 18.59, 3Bet Preflop: 13.18, Hands: 796)
      SB: 83.6 BB (VPIP: 12.32, PFR: 6.52, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 139)
      BB: 171.9 BB (VPIP: 22.68, PFR: 10.82, 3Bet Preflop: 2.47, Hands: 196)
      UTG: 104.7 BB (VPIP: 19.05, PFR: 14.29, 3Bet Preflop: 16.67, Hands: 24)
      Hero (MP): 233.5 BB
      CO: 101.4 BB (VPIP: 25.00, PFR: 16.67, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 12)

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

      Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has Q:spade: Q:club: 4:spade: 3:heart:

fold, Hero raises to 3.5 BB, fold, BTN raises to 12 BB, fold, fold, Hero calls 8.5 BB

      Flop: (25.5 BB, 2 players) K:heart: 9:diamond: 8:heart:
      Hero checks, BTN checks

      Turn: (25.5 BB, 2 players) J:diamond:
Hero checks, BTN bets 13.4 BB, Hero raises to 39.5 BB, BTN calls 26.1 BB

      River: (104.5 BB, 2 players) 6:heart:
      Hero bets 98 BB, fold

      Hero wins 100.1 BB

So this hand is me suffering from fancy play syndrome but the reason behind my play is as follows:
I open ss queens in mp and get 3bet by a regish player in btn with 3b 13 over 800 hands so his 3b range is even wider in btn and I call
on the flop I check with the intention of folding to a bet but he checks back and turn brings a second fd and a straight possible to wich I have the blockers to the nuts
villain checked behind the flop so he doesn`t have many fd on the flop and on the turn he bets only half pot wich is kind of weak and it s unlikely to have a straight so he has lots of aa with diamond fd or 2/3 paired cards with draw combo
I reraise and he just calls and on the river on any card that isn t a diamond I push and I ch/fold on diamond

Nice to see you are steadily grinding day in and day out.

How many tables do you play? How do you end a day of grinding over 8hrs? Do you study your session or do you do something else to let your mind relax?

As mentioned before, I dont know much about PLO, so your hand review is very interesting. I like how you had a solid idea of what you would do before the decision got to you. I have been trying to work on that in my game as well.

      continued success.

I try to play 40hrs per week but is kind of hard with going to work 40 hrs also and in the weekends are some great value mtt s live.
Usually i mark hands and review them before i start a session as warm up and if i see a mistake i try to avoid it but most of the time a have a plan since preflop so i don t get manny wierd spots. After i finish a session i go straight to bed i don t like to review hands at that point.
Also i play 4 tables but can go to 2 or 3 if eating or looking over some hands in the session.
And most important if u wanna improve your thinking talk to kyybery he s got some nice videos because i don t think it s ok for me to pass them on.

Hmm yesterday I had to stop after a bit over 6h I felt I got tilted. it s the only kind of tilt that I can not suppress when I get it in behind and win the hand even if it s cooler, if I loose I don t give a f but when I get there it makes me go nuts inside.
Today was kind of the other way around so this is why we love this game, you can play good and lose or u can play bad and win, on short term is amazing and never let s you get bored.
So I got too many set ups and too many weak aces shipped 3 way to lose and lost a few aaxx vs aaxx pre which is normal but also I have took to many flips yesterday and that s not my style, I like to play 3 streets poker instead of going in flips that I can avoid.

I would love to play more but I have a day 1 to play today and hopefully I ll make the final day.
Also I will post some hands when I ll come back.
