      Hello Pokerstrategy People,

I have finally decided that starting a thread like this might make me put in some dedication and volume. I have decided to start at £50 because I really haven't played any poker for at least 6 months and want to get back into it. I'm going to start at £50 or 60 euro's playing 2nl cash games and build my self up from there.

This is the only recent stats that I have for this month, however I won't include it in the challenge.

This is that starting balance, opted in to 'Road to Riches' and also playing on Microgaming network as it has the lowest rake by far.

Day 1 of the challenge, wasn't really planning a long session (it is a Saturday after all). Played just over 1000 hands 6 tabling. Feel that at one stage I will need to go to 8 or 9 tables to get volume in. I know I can 12 table decently but feel that you get way more information 6 tabling on game flow at a table and knowing much more about your opponents by just watching them as well as using my HUD.

Good day here's some graph's and stats:

      Some interesting hands:

Villain had only been at the table for a short amount of time but had overplayed pocket 7's aggressively pre flop by 4 betting and cbet flop where it was checked down to the river. So I put him in the aggressive category for now, standard call pre flop. On the flop there was something fishy about his sizing so wanted to just raise a small amount. By doing this i'm protecting my hand and also because of my small raise size I thought it may give him a chance to spaz out and shove all in. If I think there's a decent chance he's bluffing I think that perhaps I should call the flop and let him shove the turn as by shoving nothing worse really calls (but it is 2nl and he could tilt call of with AK or some pocket pair like 9's). Don't think this play is standard or +EV, this move on the flop was very player dependent to him.

Villain here was a passive call station type of player. On the turn I think on this type of board it is probably close between shoving and betting just under pot especially for a 90/10 call station. My thinking was on the turn that there's a very high percentage chance he's not folding. He either has a pair the he's hanging on to or drawing to a flush. Thought also that shoving can look like a bluff as if I was getting him to fold and I was drawing. In the end worked out well.

This was the biggest win of the session. I think that calling 67s is break even at best at that situation. I'm definitely not calling 56s in the same situation and player. This was on an anonymous table so that stats are for all of the sessions put together and not what I saw at the time. On the flop, i'm not always raising with calling a decent percentage of the time. When the king rolls off on the turn its nearly mandatory to bet to get villain of any pocket pairs and also I have some equity if called. On the river, probably the best card that could come, if the flush comes in villain could probably find a fold.

There's literally no reason to be a LAG at 2nl. Pretty standard call down if he wants to donk every street, also on HUD I believe it said something about donking with some sort of made hand so I just let him hang himself.

Pre-flop I think I can go either way against a tight reg either to 3 bet or call but the big blind was a fish so decided to call and potentially let him into the pot. On the flop is standard call, on the turn is when alarm bells start to ring. That sizing is worrying for a tight reg, can't see him barrelling with a pocket pair or with air that often. He more likely with 2/3 size bet has Ax or a set. If there is a large bet on the river I would like to think I could find the fold, nearly folded the turn but that's really to nitty to do that.

Had been playing with the reg on a couple of tables, aggressive type of player. On the flop I think it was call because he's an aggressive player so he should be 4 betting kings and aces. Also if I bet on the flop and he has AQ for example is he really going to shove over a cbet on the flop. From playing with him he hasn't really done anything like this against a reg so thought there was decent chance it was an under pair like pockets tens or nines, bluff or what he had which was a flush draw.

So as the stats shows the villain is just a very aggressive player, 3 betting everything, barrelling all the time and had a 100% cbet. On the river I think the shove is debatable, if he's going to call with any Kx or 2 pair here then its definitely profitable. But, the river completes A5 and 65 which he could be barrelling. The shove is probably fine at this level as I can't see him folding Kx at any stage on the river.

Aggressive player, would probably 4 bet stronger hands. At worse he most likely has a flush draw + an ace. Read was right as he gets in pocket 6's.

Anonymous table so ignore that stats, player was like a 60/30 player. Tanked for a long time and called then of course the jack comes. Player was very random and not wanting to fold with some aggressive plays.

I don't know whether this is the right play here especially with one player left to act. Another fish just open shoving. The call is probably break even but the pot was won and we move on.

Villain was an aggro opponent. Would limp every hand and not fold, donking flops sometimes and calling cbets with complete air. I think turn is close between a call and fold, however when we get to the river I think we have to call.

Probably will read some of mental game of poker to improve that so I can increase my win rate even more if possile. Similar to yestarday's session the red line dropped off at the end, may be coincidental maybe not.

UTG was a fish, I think if he bet more on the turn its borderline and then made a big bet on the river I could have folded however with the price were getting I think we have to call. Wasn't so worried about BB who was a reg as I think the BB raises the turn or even the flop against a fish who doesn't fold with a flush.

      Weekly Update

Well, what a start to my bankroll challenge. Played 7/7 days and were all winning days with an insane win rate (albeit only 6500 hands sample).

      Goals to improve on:
      - Without hurting my play I believe I can get my red line going in a slightly positive direction, I think with some more small adjustments I can get that red line going in an upwards direction.
      - Read mental game of poker, easy reasons why.
      - For next week I want to get at least 10,000 hands, no reason why I can't get to this goals.
      - Continue at 2nl where I'm in line for a £50 leaderboard prize at the end of the month then I'll climb up to 4nl.

I don't always get in AK but when its suited and the villian has an orange tag (bad reg/ good fish) than I'm getting it in. In the same session I folded Kings to a 5bet so its not like my default position is to get all in pre flop.

During the start of the session, just a random fish that liked to bet, really was the best flop and the most +ev way to play vs this type of opponent.

I think the turn in this hand is quite interesting. We have the second nuts on the flop to maybe joint second nuts. On the turn when it gets back to us I think we can shove to get rid of those who have a flush draw to protect our equity. Also if someone had AT then I think we would of heard about on the flop or turn and that was really the main reason for the check on the turn to see what happened.

Day 11 Review + Monthly Review
      Starting Bankroll: £50
Bankroll: £164.22 +£10 ish (from cash games)+£50 (from leaderboard)

Well, it was a bumpy ride, lost like 5 buyins at 2nl. The implication of this was to send me right off the leaderboard with their calculations. So I decided to play some 10nl (yes I know bankroll management), won a buy in and then lost around 8 euro. Then played some 20nl PLO and perfect situation won one buy in.

Here is my final 2nl graph:

Note the bad downswing at the end :f_cry:
Anyway, run basically at EV so I'm not complaining.

The last session was a mix of everyone 3 betting with only kings and aces and these types of hands:
