Hi, I my name is Wesley I am 33 years old and living in the Netherlands. Been around for some time although not that active for some time. Have played stt's, mt sngs, mtt and cash games. At the moment I mostly play mtt's at stars and so far it has not been going so well for me this year :( .

Still I have been doing a lot of studying lately and actively posting hands. So I am sure I can turn this around :) . To help me motivated I thought it is a great idea to start up a blog and participate in the Bankroll challenge. At this moment my Stars Bankroll is $ 893 and my goal is $ 5000

That sounds like a nice goal to have.
Good luck with improving your MTT skills and reaching a $5k bankroll :gl:

      Cheers,

So the last couple of days been interesting. Had no big cashes ( unfortunately ;( ) still managed to get deep in some tournaments and have the feeling that working on my game the last couple of weeks is at least helping making better decisions overall. So far I played:

      24 mtt's en 13 stt's and I am down

      mtt's: - $ 1,97
      stt's: - $19,99
      chests: $ 0,10

      nice results these week:
      88/914 in $ 2,20 Bubble Rush for $ 5,11
      45/1883 in a $ 5,5 KO tourney for $ 28,51
      4/1759 in a $ 1,1 tourney for $ 6,01

Been mostly playing the stt's at the end of my mtt session to fill up some tables. So far running pretty bad at them but think my play still decent :) . for the rest been going through the tournaments I get deep in and some showdown hands in the other ones and working to improve my gameplan. Also went to the Moshman coaching where I picked up some things I could improve.

on Tuesday I didn't played at all. Did some hand analyses and for the rest prepared for my chessgame that evening. In the game I played with black against an lower rated player then myself. I came a pawn up with pretty early in the game but, my opponent had a lead in development after: 1. e4 Nf6 2. Nc3 d5 3. d3 dxe4 4 Bg5 exd3 5. Bxd3

Instead of using his lead in development to create an attack before I can finish my development. He decided to exchange all his pieces hoping that a pawn down would be enough to draw the game in an endgame. Unfortunately for my opponent in the endgame I managed to pick up a couple more pawns after which winning the game was just a matter of time.

When we analysed the game afterwards and I told him it would be better to use the lead in development and being behind in material you mostly want to avoid exchanging pieces. He said that he was afraid of being outplayed if he kept the game complex. Think this also reflexes well on my pokergame because without a solid game plan I might open way to tight vs the light 3 better or am afraid getting outplayed after the flop. With a solid game plan though it takes out the emotions and focuses on what the the right move for this spot vs this opponent.

      today I played 14 mtt's

      mtt's: $ 0,43
      chests: $ 0,20

had some deeper runs today. Unfortunately no wear near the final table. Really think the work I put in my game starting to pay off as I get fairly deep in at least some tourneys most of the time now and I don't think it is just because I am not running as bad as before ^^. Still might be playing a bit to tight still in the money. So that is definately something I need to look over.

      Biggest wins today:
      115/2185 in a the Hot $ 4,40 for $ 10
      31/1091 in a $ 1,10 tourney for $ 3,11
      41/747 in a $ 5,50 turbo tourney for 16.44
      148/3028 in the Big $ 4,40 for $ 15.46

      yesterday I played 11 mtt's

      mtt's: - $ 5,27

Did a lot of handanalyses and was planning to look more closely on some ranges. Instead of the later I did decide to play a bit. unfortunately again not so great results with 4 itm and one fairly deep. Hopefully I can turn this around tonight with a good result and end the week in the plus :f_thumbsup: .

      Biggest win:
      95/4335 in the Hot $ 2,20 for $ 10,31

Nice blog mate, good luck in reaching your goals. I am about to have an intensive month of playing mainly 1 Table SNGs (Party) and MTTs (multiroom) so will be following you for sure. I can see you more or less play the kind of Buy-Ins I will be targeting ($5); what are the top PokerStars tournaments at this sort of level? (so including $2 Rebuys etc) I will be researching this properly before I start my push but I'd rather ask in case I miss something obvious.

Chess!! Getting into them those last few months. Nice addition and relevant to poker for sure game plan wise etc. Up for some games sometime, although by the looks of it you will absolutely decimate me!

@ inlovewithhamster: thx, mate ;) . good luck with your grinding too.

I mostly play anything between the $ 0,55 tourneys and the $ 7,50 tourneys, normal speed, turbo's, re-entries, 3stacks, PLO and sats to $ 11 to $ 33 tourneys and using the $ 3,50 stt to fill some tables at the end of the sessions. Don't play the rebuys and the hypers atm, though :f_rolleyes: .

Had a bit less time to play today. That is why I only played 8 mtt's. Didn't run that well and only got in the money in one of them. Did get pretty deep in the $ 2,20 PLO one, but when I got AsAc4s2d on the button and made it only 2 bb hoping the maniac bb would reraise what he had done on many occasions before. He indeed reraised and I 4 betted pot leaving me with just a bit less than a fifth of a potbet left on the flop. Unfortunately my opponent actually had a really good hand this time with QcKdQhKc being only a 64 % favorite. the flop didn't connect any of us, but unfortunately the turn came the Kh and no help on the river :( . Busting in 15th place for $ 9,77

      mtt's: - $ 22.03

      Current Bankroll: 989.74

I played 12 mtt's today. Got a few pretty harsh beats in the beginning of the session :f_mad: . Luckely the last couple of tourneys whened pretty well. got pretty deep in the $ 2,20 Bubble Rush but when I reshoved with the A9o against the Button open I busted after he called with A6s and he flopped an 6 :s_frown: . In the Bounty Builder I pushed my open ender and lost against a better straight. should have looked at the payouts since I busted on the bubble for the next payout. Really need to be a bit better aware of the payout jumps. :f_p:

      mtt's: $10.74
      chests: $ 0.10

      Best result:
      343/6497 in Bounty Builder $ 11 for $ 20,55 and $ 15 in bounties
      38/781 in $ 2,20 Bubble Rush for $ 6,05

      Current Bankroll $ 1000,56

Unfortunately I only got 6th after I ran in to a strong hand from the buttun when I tried to resteal and busted after I got it in against a really aggressive player on the flop with flushdraw and overcards against the top pair and missed.

      mtt's: $ 7,85
      chests: $ 2.10

      Best results:

Started a bit sooner so I registered over a longer period. That is why I decided to cut out all the $ 0,55 to $ 2,20 tournaments today and play mostly all the $ 3,30 to $ 7,50 and 2 $ 11 ones. even cutting out some of the lower tournaments I normally play. I still played 17 tourney which is a bit more then I usually play :) .

I think I played alright, but unfortunately I ran pretty awful getting sucked out left and right running top of peoples range and getting coolered. So at the end of the evening except a few bounties I picked up I only got in the money in one and needed to get at least 5th to break even for the day. I did make the final table of the $ 7,50 PLO 6 max but unfortunately I busted in 6th.

Was already short when I got to the final table and pretty much the entire time there I didn't pick up any decent hand to try to get it in with. Until I picked up :Jc: :8h: :Js: :Ts: on the Cutoff having only 21144 left with blinds 2.4K/4.8K I made it pot for 16.800 and the BB being a massive chipleader repotted with :4d: :Td: :Ad: :3c: to put me all-in I called with made me a 60 % favorite to win the hands. Flop still came good for me with :6c: :7h: :6h: , but the turn came the :5s: making him a straight :f_frown: and the :8d: brought no help unfortunately

      mtt: - $ 31.78

      best result:
      6/258 in a $ 7,50 PLO 6-max tourney for $ 62,09

      Current bankroll: $ 978.73

So in total this week I played:

      64 mtt's and winning: $ 21.99
total rewards from chests: $ 2,45

I total I only played 9 tournaments today. I didn't do to well busted all but a $ 2,20 deepstack and a $ 1,10 PKO.Didn't came much further in the PKO then a few bounties and a mincash. Did pretty decent in the deepstack though. Where I had a decent stack with 510K with blinds of 7K/14K, but then this hand happened :( .

I had called the utg raise of 28K who had a stack of 300K With :Qh: :Jh: in the cutoff and the flop came :8c: :3h: :2h: . I flopped a flushdraw + overcards so seemed a pretty easy reraise All-in after the utg made a c-bet of a bit less then half pot. Unfortunately my opponent had :Kd: :Kh: and quicky called the shove no hearth came on turn or river and I was down to a 200K chipstack. The next hand I picked up TT and got called by AK and unfortunately lost the flip and was out in 22nd place :( .

      mtt: - $ 32.23
      chests: $ 0.25

      Best result:
      22/1164 for $ 10,28

      Current bankroll: $ 946.75

Was pretty tired yesterday, but I still decided to get some volume in since I already hadn't played Monday and Tuesday. It turned out not to be that great of on idea as I just wasn't able to play my A-game. Made most decisions automatic didn't pick up reads didn't correctly adjust to opponents etc. . On top of that I ran pretty bad too. In the end I didn't even manage to get in the money in a single tournament out of the 11 I played:f_cry: .

      mtt: - $ 45.07
      chests: $ 0,25

      Current Bankroll: $ 901,68
