      Hi All,

this is Jonas from Germany - Düsseldorf. Currently I´m on a business trip in Vietnam and had a look if some legal an official live Poker is available out here. The first hits on google said that it is not legal and there is no casino offering poker in a legal and official way but there are plenty of private tables running as plenty of online players from the US and Europe moved especially after black friday to the south east asia.
As I´m not that kind of player for private cashgame rounds in areas, countries and people I don´t no at all.

However, I adjusted my search a little bit and found out the Asian Poker Tour will stop over here for the kickoff (http://www.theasianpokertour.com/apt-events/apt-kickoff-vietnam-2018) . Unfortunatelly I will not be here anymore but asked the room where the APT will take place if they offer poker now already and got the information that they offer warm ups and sit and gos (which is in my understanding actually cashgame. You buy a stack with 6m VND; 1m is Rake and you get 5k Chips. The game is rake free than. You can stand up and go anytime you like and change the chips with the rate 1 = 1 x 10 ^3)

I heard a lot of scam stories around Cambodia and Vietnam and I´m still not sure to visit that room for playing poker.

Does anybody knows about if it is legal at all? Do you have played poker in HCMC already? What do you think about it?

      Thanks!
      Jonas

      Hey Jonas,

      Welcome to the forums :welcome:

I'm only half guessing, but I believe Vietnam may be one of the Asian countries where gambling is illegal for locals but allowed for tourists, but don't quote me on that.

I'll move this to our 'International Meeting Place' board where it will stay visible for longer.

While you're here, you should take a moment or two to Introduce yourself! to us properly.

      Cheers :f_drink:
