Hi! My name is Tarciziu. I'm 22, from Romania!
I started playing poker at 16 at NL2, but irregularly. In the last 3 years i didn't play poker too much because of my university.
I recently finished Computer Science and now i work as a programmer.

I always had a problem with discipline. At tilt i would play out of bankroll, at casino or sports betting.
I don't have a problem with discipline in the "real life", but when i get tilted it's a different story, so this is the role of this blog, for discipline in all areas of my life. I played mostly at micro limits ( NL2-NL10) + Multi table tournaments ( Under 2 $ ).All in all, my stats until this point are: ~ 400.000 hands at cash ( + 200$ profit), ~ 4k tournaments ( +500$ profit), but that's history for me.

      I will start with a 300 $ bankroll on pokerstars ( 150 $ for NL5, and 150$ for under 2.2$ Tournaments).

Like i said, my only goal with this blog is to be disciplined, so i will make updates not only about poker(but this will be the main focus).
I'm a big football fan and I like hitting the gym. I'm 6'1 (185 cm), and 191 pounds (87 kg) at around 16 body fat (under my estimation), 34 inch waist(86 cm). I don't know if i should bulk or cut but i want to go this year a minimum 8 months at the gym. I already went 1 month in February.

I will come with monthly objectives regarding poker, cryptocurrency, gym, reading books etc, but for now I will play maximum 4-6 tables. I already blocked my access to maximum NL5 and 2.2 tournaments + sports / casino.

If you have any opinions, constructive criticism, thoughts, questions etc, feel free to share them with me. I hope this will be a dinamyc blog.

      Bankroll 300$ (150$ Cash, 150$ tournaments).

Thanks, Agapie Gheorghe! I also remember you from romanian forum. I will definitely follow your blog, i see you're taking this serious, with charts and all that.

Yestarday i played a few hands at NL5, 4 tables. Nothing too complicated, but i see that i don't know how to play middle pairs and from blinds....

Today i had a 7-8 hours MTT session. The games are a lot easier than cash. All kinds of crazy plays and all in UTG with A10o in early stage... But the variance is big.
I can't post a graph because holdem manager 2 says i'm up 200$ today (lol), and i checked to see the graph from today. But i think i'm down 12 $. I had bad variance in the beggining of the day but in the last hour of the session i threw money out of the window at 3 final tables at 1$ 180 people SNG 2 times and 1.5 90 KO. I wanted to play Bigger events under 2$ that are running right now but i'm tired ..., i just finished the session.

As i said MTTs are a lot easier and i can play them 7-8 hours, at cash i stop after 1-2 hours lol, but i can't find to much time for them.
In the working days i will probably play 2 hours after work and gym, and mtts on weekends.

Overall i'm very happy that today i didn't tilt too hard, but because i played so many tables at mtts i played like a robot...

Tomorrow i will play mostly NL5. I hope that i will play 1000 hands every day at 4-6 tables.

      Now some hands

      1. I think i played this poorly. 3 bet call i think that's ok. I should've reraised the flop and give up to a re raise or direct fold. I don't know why i called.

      Yesterday + Today

Yesterday i had an awful day, but i didn't tilt too much, but after some time i became a calling station..

From tomorrow i will start reading some articles, starting with the basics.

And because nobody says anything, i will talk with myself :f_biggrin:

      Remember to:
      FOLD
      No, they aren't bluffing you.
Play more from BU, play way less from UTG, also MP it's not in position, so play less cards, and also, STOP calling / limping all kinds of cards from SB, you fish. Learn to play middle cards or stop playing big pots with them. Calling 3bet preflop and check / fold postflop it's not smart.

Today i played only 550 hands because i played some football and i didn't have time.
      I was up at one point +8 $, but finished - 4.5 $.

Vs 13/5 in 200+ hands. It sucks, but i think i made the right decision. He told me afterwards that he had trips.... Strange considering his preflop calling range.

      Today i've read 6 articles.
Are you fit for professional poker (no, lol :f_biggrin: ) + Game Analysis 1,2,3 and Stats 1,2.
So try to not play like a robot, think at every street, think what's your opponent range, why you played the way you played, what could have you done better + watch your bet sizing ( try to get the maximum value).
Try to make some session review, watch your play from positions and review some spacific hands categories that you play poorly ( suited connectors and middle pairs).
Refresh your knowledge about pot odds and probabilities.
Don't put too much trust in statistics if you only have under 100 hands on your opponent.
Add Attempt to steal and fold to steal on your HUD + steal more often, the players fold too much preflop.
Learn Float and when to use it.

So the last 2 days were awful. I lost 45 $.

I watched my stats and they were relatively normal...25/20, but when i watched my stats from position....they were garbage.

I play waaay to much "drawy" hands from all positions like K10s,QJs, + all kinds of suited connectors + i make 3bet and call 3 bet with them out of position.

I also read another 6 articles: The basics: pot odds and outs, implied odds, Risk-reward, upsing and downswing, thirty beginner tips part 1 & 2. So Poker Basics From the strategy section is done.

I will start learning from No Limit section + i will watch w3az3l's 6max micro walkthrough, especially ranges.

Today i played 3 sessions for a total of 10 hours of cash + another MTT.
      I played 6 tables cash + 1-2 max MTT.

I don't want to complain about variance but today was ridiculous. I think i lost money with AA today. I had coolers like AA vs KK and QQ preflop + KK vs JJ etc.

I was late on 0.55 Rush, in the last 40, and i lost AA vs QJ vs 88. I would've been first with 1.5x stack of numer 2.
      I really wanted that top 3 for 50 - 120 $.

My confidence is really low right now. Tomorrow i don't know if i will play any hands. Maybe some tournaments...

      The graph of this month:

      Stats:

      Positions:

I'm happy that i played 20k hands in like 9-10 days and i was disciplined ( max 6 tables when i played cash), i didn't played hyper turbo or casino or sports betting on tilt and i didn't said anything to my opponents after i lost vs them.

In the last 2-3 days i stopped 2 major things. I stopped 3betting all kinds of "drawy" hands like suited connectors and i stopped 3bet calling these type of hands. I saw that my red line acted normaly with these changes and i wasn't in so many tough spots.

So i don't know how i lost so much money.
      -62 $ at cash and around - 40 $ at tournaments. So from my 300 $ BR i lost 100 $ (1/3 of total).
I decided to stop playing SNG-MTT and i will play MTT very rarely (only on weekends and those with high money guaranteed).

I will stop playing poker until 2 april.

But for April my objectives are the following:
      1. 50 000 hands.
      2. 4BB/100 on NL5, and with 50 000 hands i will have 100 $ profit and i will try a shot at NL 10 i hope.
      3. Finish "Blue Ocean strategy". I already started it and it's a fenomenal business book.
      4. Study a minimum of 10 hours.
      5. This month i will participate to a semi-marathon (21 km = 13 miles) and i want to finish it in under one hour and 45 minutes.
I didn't train for running this year at all. I only played around 15 hours of football :) .
Current Bankroll : 192$. I hope i can get to 300$ at the final of April.

If you have any suggestions or you see any problems (with my poker stats probably :f_biggrin: ), feel free to let me know.

I hope you have a great month.
      Take care!

If you can post more stats something like this I can tell you exactly what are the standard values and what you need to modify/work on it.

You 3bet same hands from all positions i think, going to much at showdown as you said.
What ranges do you use ? There are a lot of ranges out there to grab.

I´m on a downswing this month as well, but that doesn´t matter we just have to study and improve our game.

Good luck in April ! :f_thumbsup:

So i was motivated to get back to the game and this happened. One of the worst poker days ever.

I don't know how i could lose so much money in a very short time. Even if I played 50/2 i think i could've done better...
I wanted to make 100 $ this month, and in the first day... i lost 90+$ (with tournaments). That's 18 BY.
I had bad variance but lets be honest, i played very bad.
This was one of my last hands this session.

I really don't know what to do now. My bankroll is 105 $ ( + 2600 Star coins). I started with 300 $ not even 2 weeks ago.
One of the last times i played NL 5 (almost 2 years ago), i was a winning player (around 8-10 BB/100 on 30.000 hands) playing 18/13, the same from all positions.
Now i know that's bad so i started playing more, and more from position, now my stats are 25/19.
      Over 90% of my losses are from BB where i have - 61 BB/ 100 :f_o:

The thing is i know i will never be a professional poker player. This wasn't my objective but i thought that would be nice to make some extra income from poker.
I don't know if i should play NL2 now, but i feel that it's a waste of time. Or keep playing NL5 even though i'm a losing player. If i lose my bankroll, that's it for a couple of months. Maybe i will return for Micro Millions or go to 888poker for first bonus + more fishes at the tables.

Today i also finished the book 'Blue Ocean Strategy'. It's a very good business book. One of my favorites. I will start reading 'Zero to One' and after that 'The Lean Startup'. Both business books.

So i played another NL5 session and i lost another 20$. My bankroll was ~80 $.:f_o:
I thought that if i will still play NL5 i will lose my bankroll.
I decided to play NL2, but 12 tables in the same time, just for $ / hr, because i want to go back to NL5, and that will take me a very looong time. I have to 2.5x my bankroll just to be where i was 2 days ago.
Here is my graph after 2 sessions at NL2. I lost KK vs AA all in preflop 2 times in the last 700 hands, the last was exactly before 'sit out on big blind' :f_rolleyes: but at NL2 are so many fishes. I mean, we all are somehow fishes at NL5, but most of the players have under 30VPIP let's say, but at NL2 you have many whales, 2+ fishes at every table.

      Today's result.

      I played 20/15 :f_eek:
I think that's a good think that i play 12 tables on NL2 because i play more tight and i don't call 3-bets / make 3 bets very often (like i did on NL5), and my redline it's above 0$ which is nice.
      Bankroll: 110 $ + 3000 Stars points. I think i will play on NL2 until i make 150 $ bankroll without Star points.
