      Position:
      Stack

      Hero:
      $26,46

      0,1/0,25 No-Limit Hold'em (7 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: PokerStrategy Elephant 0.67 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is BU with A:spade: , K:heart:
4 folds, Hero raises to $1,00, SB folds, BB raises to $3,00, Hero calls $2,00.

      Flop: ($6,10) 9:diamond: , 9:club: , A:club: (2 players)
BB bets $4,00, Hero raises to $12,00, BB folds.

      Final Pot: $22,10

I decide to call preflop in position. The flop is quite dry and I'm pretty sure to hold the best hand, so maybe I should just call and try to get more value on later streets?

I´d just call, because which hands he would continue- only maybe AK, AQ, AJ, sometimes flushdraw and 9x or better hands

If ha has AQ, AJ- he could easily bet on the turn for value and you can shove turn if you want (I´d likely also call turn)
If he has lower pp, then he´d likely c/c once and then fold to river.
