Hand converted with online PokerStrategy hand converter:

      Known players:
      BB:
      $11.35
      MP3:
      $10.00
      CO:
      $6.60
      BU:
      $17.25
      SB:
      $12.35

      $0.05/$0.1 No-Limit Hold'em (5 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BU with A, J.
MP3 folds, CO calls, Hero raises to $0.50, SB calls, 2 folds.

      Flop: (24.00 SB) 5, J, 8 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.80, SB raises to $1.60, Hero calls.

      Turn: (44.00 BB) 5 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $2.50, SB raises to $5.00, Hero calls.

      River: (144.00 BB) A (2 players)
      SB checks, Hero checks.

      Final Pot: 144.00 BB.

My reasons for checking behind on river were that he had c/raised every street so far, and that if he had a J it would now be scared on the river and not call anyway - and that the ace couldn't really have improved my hand compared to his. I'm not sure what to make of this hand..

      Villain: 27/15/infinite aggro 31 hands

If he is such a aggressor as you mentioned then it's ok to call his raises but mostly I would prefer to fold on turn raise. It would be a good idea to Check/Call the turn. After you played till river I am definitely betting the river also.

Is it really a good thing to fire a second barrel on turn after being raised on flop? I would rather c/c turn and river if i wanted to see a showdown otherwise fold on to bet on turn or even on flop.
