Really weird bet on the river.

Turn bet is really thin against lag calling station. He is not folding anything he called the flop with, and his calling range crushes you.

Against aggro this deep I would just call preflop instead of making a big pot oop.

As played that river bet is such a bad spot for him to bluff that I would fold. And wonder how I managed to put myself into that situation.

Surprising it's not a 3bet for value vs this opponent. Its PFR is 38% but its RFI is 60% in every position. Playability concern because of the dangler ?

We still get value for our hand, that is never a problem versus aggro-maniacs. You can 3bet it for sure, that is a standard 3bet from SB agains CO open.

The problem against maniacs is that what if he 4bets? You shove preflop? Call and see if you hit the flop and fold if you miss? Here you have SPR 4,5 which means that you can't stack off that easily. Compared to 100bb deep, where you could stack off with AAxx hand on a lot of boards. How do you play Top Pair? Cbet and puke when he shoves?

Another thing is that the hand will often flop something decent, but not super strong. Hand has "smooth" equity distribution against wide range, as it will flop at least 40% equity vs range about half of the times. 60% or more against his range happens 1/3 times. And he has the position, which means that he has the final word on if you two play for stacks or not.

3betting creates a lot of variance. Maniacs will get chips in if they hit the board in any way, and often even when they don't. Once you 3bet, you remove their air from their postflop continuation range. Against aggros we don't have to take flips (this hand is 53/47 against 30% open. 55/45 against 60% open.) to make money. I mean, even if he stacks off preflop with his whole range, you are risking your stack to win a little amount (especially after the rake). As he isn't stacking off but calling with most of his range in position, you are probably going to make more mistakes postflop than he is. So his EV gets higher and your goes lower.

But if you call you put him into situation where he is making most of the mistakes (being preflop aggressor and being aggressive postflop).

So if he calls 3bet with some rundown its never folding turn? And turn make straight 45xx and on the river all some random 3xxx beats you. Like 3456, 3345, A234. Imo easy fold. And dont thin he would raise against 3 bet A high board even making set ?
