Day 1- First try @ Mansion

Don't know if this is really a blog, just keeping track of my starting capital as you were kind enough to give me one so think of this as keeping track of your investment ;-)

Hope to exchange some ideas here also ;)

Nice 1st try at mansion. Fed of a fish there and hope to find some more in a more "decent" hour as it is graveyard shift now

      Key hand was:

$0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players

      UTG: $5.90 (295 bb)
      MP: $5.40 (270 bb)
      CO: $1.13 (56.5 bb)
      Hero (BTN): $1.42 (71 bb)
      SB: $5.03 (251.5 bb)
      BB: $4.40 (220 bb)

Pre-Flop: Hero is BTN with 7
UTG folds, MP calls $0.02, CO folds, Hero calls $0.02, SB completes, BB checks

      Flop: ($0.08) 3 (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, MP checks, Hero checks

      Turn: ($0.08) 4 (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, MP checks, Hero checks

      River: ($0.08) Q (4 players)
SB checks, BB bets $0.06, MP raises to $0.26, Hero raises to $0.92, 2 folds, MP calls $0.66

Results (listed below in white, highlight to see): $1.98 pot ($0.09 rake)
MP showed Tc 9s (a flush, Queen high) and lost (-$0.94 net)

I was trying to pot the turn (semibluffing) but misclicked

Well you won the hand, but I don't know really is this move so profitable in the long run to limp with A7o . Well I'm also a newbie in poker, but just think what are you expecting to catch on flop. If the flop will be for example A J 5 you will have top pair, but to play with such kicker is really bad thing, and if you will catch 7 on flop, then most of the times it won't be top pair of the hand. If you will try to catch flush, than you will need 4 cards of the same suit, and even for example 4 spades in this hand would be bad, because it's very likely that someone else will have higher spade. Of course your position is great in this hand, but overall I think that playing A7o is way too loose.

(that was just a beginners thoughts, don't be angry with me if I'm writing silly things :D )

@soucy Thx. I'll be reading your blog as it seems interesting. Nice win rate ;)

@darkishbet Indeed it was a loose call. I was setting up Holdem Manager and so not really playing my A game (maybe saw the ace and figured i would limp in?). Not a preflop hand i limp in with normally. I agree with everything you said and believe me i would have that in consideration while playing the hand. Yeah kicker sucks... :)

I see you have 71BB at the table. How much do you buy in for at a table? Because 70BB is neither close to SSS or to maximum buy in which you should bring when playing BSS.
Will be fun to follow your progress, hope the pokergods are kind to you ^^

Thought someone was going to ask that sonner or later :P . In fact i use a somewhat unknown "half stack strategy". I'm not really a good poker player (if i was i wouldn't be in these levels :D ). So i had to change some things to make me more profitable. This strategy has a lot of good things, being the big plus the low variance and how easy donks call your all-ins. The only bad one is i have to leave some money on the tables in big hands (not fully covering someone all ins). Just google it :) Since i introduced this in my gaming i consider myself a winning player. Was averaging 30bb/100hands over 6k hands in the poker room i was playing before i joined pokerstrategy ;)

He is using holdem manager program, its tracker witch stores all stats of your opponents and even makes some cool graphs of your winnings :D

By the way how many tables are you playing and how many hands do you usually play every day in average?

@KriZ0 I use holdem manager. You should look it up. It's great. The alternative being waiting till the elephant. Never tried it but think they are similar!!

@Darkshibet Remember that it also keeps track of you and so u can find the leaks in your game and has a hand resplyer so u can replay your session and see where to improve.

In the moment i'm playing some 200 to 300 hands 4 days a week. Look to improve to 500 and 5 days. I play at 2 tables.

I use the Popop Universal Replayer,it's sketchy and hasn't got half as many stats and options as the elephant but it does the job and it's also free! Which i like :D

Day 3 - Back on posite turf

Today i didn't have a lot of time to play so... Played a little session that ended like 10 minutes ago. For some strange reason Hold'Em Manager didn't get at least one hand where i won some money so i had to delete some minor hands so winnings were the same, and that lead to a somewhat different graph. This players are too tight. I prefer everest a lot more :D It will be an interesting experience as i'm bluffing more. Just have to adjust to your opponent i guess.

      Key hand was:

      --------------------
      HAND 1
      --------------------

$0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players

      CO: $4.01 (200.5 bb)
      BTN: $3.83 (191.5 bb)
      SB: $6.54 (327 bb)
      Hero (BB): $1.60 (80 bb)
      UTG: $6.16 (308 bb)
      MP: $5.74 (287 bb)

Pre-Flop: Hero is BB with A
UTG raises to $0.04, 2 folds, BTN calls $0.04, SB folds, Hero raises to $0.17, UTG calls $0.13, BTN calls $0.13

      Flop: ($0.52) 6 (3 players)
Hero bets $0.26, UTG folds, BTN calls $0.26

      Turn: ($1.04) 3 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.26, BTN calls $0.26

      River: ($1.56) J (2 players)
Hero bets $0.24, BTN raises to $2.28, Hero calls $0.67 and is all-in

Results (listed below in white, highlight to see): $3.38 pot ($0.16 rake)
BTN showed 9c 7c (high card Jack) and won $0.00 (-$1.60 net)

Today i'll post the hands/money Graph without all in Ev but i'm still running below expectation 'cause of yesterday bad beats:

Day 4 - Swingy session going nowhere

Made some loose calls and bad gaming in general in others. Definitely wasn't playing my A game!!

Here are the hands that made my graph that ugly:

      --------------------
      HAND 1
      --------------------

$0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players

      Hero (BTN): $0.96 (48 bb)
      SB: $1.04 (52 bb)
      BB: $4.84 (242 bb)
      UTG: $4.30 (215 bb)
      MP: $4.96 (248 bb)
      CO: $3.17 (158.5 bb)

Pre-Flop: Hero is BTN with T
3 folds, Hero calls $0.02, SB completes, BB checks

      Flop: ($0.06) T (3 players)
SB bets $1.02 and is all-in, BB folds, Hero calls $0.94 and is all-in

      Turn: ($1.94) 3 (2 players, 2 are all-in)
      River: ($1.94) 9 (2 players, 2 are all-in)

Results (listed below in white, highlight to see): $1.94 pot ($0.09 rake)
SB showed Kh Qd (a straight, Nine to King) and won $1.85 ($0.89 net)

Just a bad loose call i guess. I tend to not believe someone flops straights or flushs. Really have to change that, i guess!!

      --------------------
      HAND 2
      --------------------

$0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players

      Hero (CO): $0.99 (49.5 bb)
      BTN: $4.54 (227 bb)
      SB: $6.96 (348 bb)
      BB: $8.26 (413 bb)
      UTG: $5.30 (265 bb)
      MP: $0.87 (43.5 bb)

      Pre-Flop: Hero is CO with T T
UTG folds, MP calls $0.02, Hero calls $0.02, BTN folds, SB completes, BB raises to $0.10, MP folds, Hero calls $0.08, SB calls $0.08

      Flop: ($0.32) Q 6 5 (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks

      Turn: ($0.32) T (3 players)
SB checks, BB bets $0.16, Hero calls $0.16, SB folds

      River: ($0.64) 2 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.32, BB raises to $0.64, Hero raises to $0.73 and is all-in, BB calls $0.09

Results (listed below in white, highlight to see): $2.10 pot ($0.10 rake)
BB showed As Js (a flush, Ace high) and won $2 ($1.01 net)

This one was badly played from the get go. From not raising preflop (WTF???) to not raising in the turn!! I was playing like i was afraid of the boogyman. That's what happens after loosing some all ins i guess. I just don't get what i was thinking tonight.

This was the result (Tonights session began around hand 415/420 after that big spike)

      Day 5 - Experiments

Well, i'm still getting used to mansion (it's not that the poker is different but i still don't feel at home). So i made some experiments today and it brought a cost. I played during all hours of the day (only usually play at night) but the worst was when i had the brilliant idea of using the miniview to six table. So u can figure out the result... In the last session (where the chart stops moving down lol) i was 4 tabling (think will do that from now on) and playing pretty tight. I'm getting used to mansion and see me improving in the near future. Think i'll have the objective i had on everest of 100bb a day. :D

Because of the 6 and 4 tabling i played a lot more hands than usual... (1000) Made some bad mistakes  :(

Week 1 - Trying out mansion

From now on updates will be done on a weekly basis. My objectives will be to make at least 3000 hands a week and 100bb a day (that would be great).

I'm running below expectation as i had some bad beats and even if i'm negative,in expectation i'm on the green. Hope i get some good situations to close that gap. The big drawdown was a stupid ideia of 6 tabbling LOL. In general i have some great upswings. Just have to work on those downswings. Guess i played more loose than my usual game and pay for it :(

I'm getting sick of grinding in mansion and giving my wins back in a bad beat! Time and time again!! Maybe i should have allined in the turn but against a maniac i usually like to give them rope to hang themselves...

This had a 95% equity in the turn... WTH!!

Ummm... What do you expect without raising it preflop? You deserved to loose this one, seriously. :P
no offense too, just a friendly suggestion to work on your game. ;)
Reread the articles , and also post hands in sample hands section.
And well, i'd suggest mastering FR before going to SH.

I expect to win a hand with 95% equity! Didn't know that a preflop raise would influence it.

Sure it will!! Just have to snap off this zombie state ;) If i'm playing this bad and my all EV is positive wait till i'm in the zone :D

I'm as sad for playing bad as for getting bad beats!! But i guess that while i'm playing scared i can't play well!!
