Well first I will give a little background:

I live in Argentina, so my native language is Spanish. Because of this you will probably encounter some spelling errors every now and then, sorry for the inconvenient.

I always played card games, like Magic and Pokémon. December 2008 I learned how to play poker by watching some videos on YouTube, then played on Facebook for about a month, then I found PokerStars and made and account, made some money from freerolls but I was sick and tired of how people play with play money. So while I was trying to find a way to get money from PayPal to stars I found this site.
The refer guy made it look like spam, but I was the best site I found on poker, articles, videos and everything for free! After passing the test, I found out I would no be able to use my PokerStars account, little sad but PS recommended PartyPoker.

I played SSS on NL10 for about one month, I went up, but I felt like 90% of the time I had some starting hand everybody would fold….
I also played over 3k hand on NL25, my BR pick was $151.
But still SSS was not the way I liked to play, boring…
I tested $6 Heads-Up (bad BRM) played over twenty of them, ended with $12 profit.

This was all in January, after that I went for vacations and did no play much. But one day I played with out much time, I played a non poker game, ended with $50.
Totally stupid, but sometimes it happens.

So march, tried SSS got up to $88, then dropped back down to $50. I kept going over my game with Elephant, I was playing the SHC. Some leaks, I was losing many BIs from BB, defending my blinds! I found this really necessary because sometimes it takes ages to get playable hands, without blind defense I was sometimes finding my $2 BI down to $1.30.

I also play SSS NL400 at the Casino, I made $650 profit over 3 nights. This was really cool, because I went with some friends with only one BI, so it was important to win the first hand.

Anyways, after a while I finally found the game I wanted to play.

      Sit&Go

They where perfect, even really fun to play!? I get bad beats all the time! LOL
I started testing with the ICM trainer, reading articles and everything.

So I started to play only Sit&Goes on March 16. Decided too use BRM.
With only about $50 I felt brand new! I could only afford the $1 with 20 cent rake.

I have been playing only for six days, but its going good. My BR is at $117.

My best session was $16.80 profit after playing 23 of them.

So enough for the intro, I will be using this blog to improve my game, post hands, goals, etc.

:spade: :spade: :spade: :spade: :spade: :spade:

      Going for this month:

$150 BR so that I can move up to $3 turbos

1500 points so that I can buy a $100 bonus (currently 1300 points)

Try to have some luck with the Million Dollar hand promo, 7 hands with no winnings. (Five of those hands where made while playing SSS before March 16, now it takes forever)

Improve my multi-tabling; sadly I can only open 3 tables at the same time, due to the traffic on PartyPoker, theirs never more than 3 tables at the same time.

:spade: :spade: :spade: :spade: :spade: :spade:

Note: I do not update this page, look at my last post to see my BR and latest news.

So are you now a SnG grinder? I used to play SSS too, but now, I almost strictly play 9-man SnGs.

But nice blog Dante, and good luck! Remember to keep your head up when the cards just refuse fall your way.

Small update, some interesting hands from my last $1 session.

This call was more based on how the player was going all in on me every time, maybe he was using ICM.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t400 (6 handed) Hand History converter Courtesy of

      SB (t2170)
      Hero (t1990)
      UTG (t4710)
      MP (t4880)

      Preflop: Hero is BB with K[:club:] , Q[:diamond:] .
      4 folds, SB calls [t2170] t200, Hero calls [t1590] t400.

      Flop: (t600) J[:spade:] , 6[:club:] , 7[:diamond:] (2 players)

      Turn: (t600) Q[:club:] (2 players)

      River: (t600) 3[:diamond:] (2 players)

      Final Pot: t600

This play was wrong on my part, but I took the gamble. It was more like a semi-bluff on the flop hoping he would fold, it was stupid because
he could of limped any pocket pair, AJ would of been a raise I would say.

1 fold, MP calls t400, 3 folds, Hero checks.

      Flop: (t1000) 5[:club:] , 2[:diamond:] , 7[:diamond:] (2 players)
      Hero bets t1000, MP calls [t3980] , Hero calls [t2370] t1000.

      Turn: (t2000) 2[] (2 players)

      River: (t2000) 2[:club:] (2 players)

      Final Pot: t2000

His limp from SB made me feel way ahead with ATs, on this limits I rarely encounter players trying to trap. Also take a look at the chip count,
it was a good position for me to take him out and get in the money. What would you do?

      2 folds, SB completes, Hero calls [t3180] t600, SB calls [t2160] t600.

      Flop: (t1200) 6[] , Q[:diamond:] , 9[:diamond:] (2 players)

      Turn: (t1200) 9[] (2 players)

      River: (t1200) 4[:diamond:] (2 players)

      Final Pot: t1200

Today I scored 94% out of 1000 situations on the ICM trainer, I don’t like some of the pushes... Also, when the tournament starts and
the blinds are 20/40-30/60 how much should I raise? I cant find the perfect amount, 3-4 BB gets always more than two callers, on the $1 games I found
that going all in was the best way to get one caller, I don’t like multi way pots where you have no clue what the other players have.

My current BR is $230, so now I will be playing the $3 turbos, my goals:

:spade: :spade: :spade: :spade: :spade: :spade:

Reach $300 in the next week!
150 more points for the $100 bonus (Increments of $10 for every 50 partypoints)
Test some $6 games, the rake is $1... You think that’s beatable?
Maybe platinum in the next month, I know I can, it will totally depend on my ROI (Better ROI will mean more play and less reading)

:spade: :spade: :spade: :spade: :spade: :spade:

Now I will go grind about 30-50 turbos, will post results later. Is their any program (free :P ) for Sit&Goes? That can make graphs and give me stats, etc.

      Thanks for reading!

I had some suckouts, but not many, my hands where holding.

      Hey there,

the first and last hands look standard. I would call even K9o maybe K8o in the first hand and ATs is definitelly a call even if he pushes so you really have to push it if he just completes since you get more FE...
The second hand I would just let go. If you want to semibluff as you said make it 2/3 pot like you would if you really hit a strong hand. Once you get reraised you have to fold your second pair no kicker. That is just no hand to go all in with.

I raise 3BB+1BB per limper. Sure you sometimes get multiple callers so you cannot c-bet very often but you win more chips when you hit so it's no big deal IMO.

6$ Speeds are definitely beatable I made fortune playing these before I moved to Fulltilt. They should be actually easier to beat than the 3$s since the rake is lower complared to the buyin..

And nice stats so far! Keep it up!

But lets say I play 500 games, compare it to PokerStars rake ($5.50 I think), I lose $250 playing their... Would like to move to stars, but party is nice!

It was a busy day so I played little, 16 games.

      Losses: 7
      Third: 4
      Second: 0
      First: 5

      $28.20 profit, new BR $317.90 :)

I will start posting more hands in the next few days (After the weekend).

Since my goals are going fast, I will post some new ones:

:spade: :spade: :spade: :spade: :spade: :spade:

Reach $500 in the next month
Get 50 partypoints per day, during 20 days to win $90 from the Gladiator promo
      Test some $6 turbos
Update and make this blog more interesting!

      hey dante,
I was wondering if you know how easy it is to withdraw money in argentina. I'm thinking of going to buenos aires for a few months, maybe longer, so just in case I wanted to know. (in south africa it's a little bit difficult)
