So you've got it all in and taken down the pot that takes you to 40BB's and you have to leave the table....

Do you wait for the BB to reach or just leave there and then?

I started just leaving then and there... But then I thought I'd start sticking around till the BB hit me and tighten up a little more as should you hit a nice big pair you could potentially walk away with 4 x Buyins....

      Example ;)

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

      $0.1/$0.25 No-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)

      Known players:
      CO:
      $13.85
      BU:
      $4.05
      SB(Hero):
      $6.20
      BB:
      $25.00
      UTG1:
      $27.10
      UTG2:
      $25.00
      MP1:
      $29.60
      MP2:
      $42.35
      MP3:
      $24.50

Preflop: Hero is SB with A, A.
6 folds, BU calls $0.25, Hero raises to $1, BB folds, BU calls $0.75.

      Flop: ($2.25) A, T, 2 (2 players)
Hero checks, BU bets $1.00, Hero raises to $2.5, BU calls $1.50.

      Turn: ($7.25) Q (2 players)
Hero bets $2.70(All-In), BU calls $0.55.

      River: ($10.50) 8 (2 players)

      Final Pot: $10.50.

      Results follow:

Hero shows three of a kind, aces (A A)
BU shows three of a kind, tens (T T)
Hero wins with three of a kind, aces (A A).

Then a few hands later, same table....

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

      $0.1/$0.25 No-Limit Hold'em (8 handed)

      Known players:
      MP2:
      $14.20
      MP3(Hero):
      $10.10
      CO:
      $25.00
      BU:
      $6.00
      SB:
      $25.00
      BB:
      $29.60
      UTG2:
      $42.35
      MP1:
      $24.50

      Preflop: Hero is MP3 with Q, Q.
      2 folds, MP2 raises to $0.5, Hero raises to $1.5, 4 folds, MP2 calls $1.00.

      Flop: ($3.35) 4, J, 5 (2 players)
      MP2 checks, Hero bets $2.00, MP2 calls $2.00.

      Turn: ($7.35) 3 (2 players)
      MP2 bets $5.00, Hero raises to $6.6(All-In), MP2 calls $1.60.

      River: ($20.55) T (2 players)

      Final Pot: $20.55.

      Results follow:

Hero shows a pair of queens (Q Q)
      MP2 shows a pair of fours (4 A)
Hero wins with a pair of queens (Q Q).

This is the third time I've been paid off in this way and I've yet to have a bad experience. And the aggro against this guy and not taking any notice of him was due to having over 300hands in my PT and his VP$IP is 67%, That and the fact I've seen him call at least four times at showdown with less than his holding here... Yes I look for him at the tables. :D

My range after achieving 25BB's+ is QQ+ & A,K Cold Call maximum of 4 x BB.

Do you think it's okay to continue in this way?

You can play with which holding you are comfortable with but dont coldcall ;)

If you can go broke with BSS with AK for 100bb then you can go broke with it for 40bb as well ;)

for this kind fo things, you need experience and I play every hand that is on the SHC ;)

      Cheers Gerv,

I am comfortable playing the BSS, and I do play it on FTP, but at the minute I am just playing SSS on PS. The only reason I tighten so much is due to the volume of tables I play (16 average) and I don't want to risk making a mistake, or misread with 2 x Buyins on the line when the variance is a bitch anyway lol.

I guess once I am more familiar with the BSS I can adjust accordingly, but I am just learning it at the NL2 tables at the moment. :D

Oh yeah and no CC, gotcha ;)

I'm not sure if its correct or not but if I double up, I'll wait until the bb gets to me. Just like you said, I'll tighten up... I only play AA KK QQ and to make no mistake, I shove these PF.

I play very differently now, I basically play the same tight strategy, I just adjust my bets/raises
