      Hi,
I have serious doubts about the way I played this hand
Preflop - the BU looks very much like an SSS player who doubled up recently. However, considering that his stack is not as short as it usually is, do I have enough implied odds to call here? His ATS is low, so I'm most likely playing against the normal SSS range
Flop - the flop is almost perfect, most probably I'm either ahead against his high cards or flipping against an overpair. However, I'm not sure about the check-raise at all. Should I just call here?

      Thanks!

Fold preflop!! the guy really looks like a SSS player. You don't have implied odds to call since he is short...
As played , It's very likely that you are fliping against an OP. You can donkey bet there, you want to get it all in with that flop.

I didn't want to donk-bet, because an SSS player would fold AK against a bet, but could make a contibet if I checked :)
What do you think, how big should his stack be to justify preflop call with 98s?

I am not sure about preflop call. Against fullstack you may call. Against midstack, I would either fold or raise (since he has was small stack, I would just fold).

      Flop is c/r/broke.
