I am from the us and after passing the quiz, I found out I couldnt get the start up funds. I am not a lawyer but the us is allowing gambling in most states and my state (Ohio) is one of them. AP / UB/ Full tilt/ players only/ cake poker/ carbon poker/ and sportsbook is just of a few online places that deals with us. And at bankrollmob and yourpokercash still bankrolls us players. I wish u guys would review the law and start accepting us players again.

But Im writing cause I want to be a bronze member. I already signed up for cake poker. I havent played on there yet, and when I do it will only be the freerolls, I just dont the startup money, but I do want to get switched to bronze. I just love this site. It has taught me so much about playing poker and some articles i cant read cause Im not bronze. So, atleast upgrade the us players to bronze who passed the quiz. I think that would make all your us clints happy, and I would refer alot of us players. Your site is the best on teaching people how to play poker. I really like learning and I cant learn more cause Im not bronze ;(

I know one day you will start accepting us players again but until then please make me a bronze player so I can continue to learn. If I had the money to play and earn my own strategy points then I would, but if I had some money then I wouldn't needed the free bankroll.

Its not a matter of you being legally able to play poker in your state.

Its a matter of TRANSFERRING FUNDS. That's what your law is restricting, the transfer of funds to offshore accounts.

Everythign I've been able to gleen now for the past couple of months indicates that this stupid law will be reversed by the fall (hopefully). You can help by talking to your government rep and demanding support in defeating this law.

Until then, I'm sure there is nothing PS or any other site can do to help you.

thanks str82ace, but there is a couple of sites out there that still transfees funds to offshore accounts. I did get bankrolled at pitbull poker for $10, that was my first place i played but back then i was a donk and lost it fast.

And i just found two other places that bankrolls us players, but I already have a account at the sites they deal with.?

really, Im not that mad that I cant get bankrolled by pokerstrategy, Im mad at the fact that I cant become a bronze member and I need to be bronze to read some of the articles I need to become a better poker player.

I don't fully understand why pokerstrategy doesn't give the starting capital to US players. It's not like PS.com is listed at the stock exchange or the US government has any jurisdiction over the company. It might be interesting if Soy or someone took the time to explain that but I understand if PS.com doesn't want to give out information about their business strategy...

Anyway, about your problem... You can still get to bronze very easily. Just deposit a few bucks and as soon as you earn 1 strategy point by playing on your tracked account your status should be upgraded to bronze automaticaly.

      Hi slicky111,

We appreciate the frustration and your desire to access the variety of strategy material on this site.

Unfortunately however, as my fellow members have already indicated, this is just not possible at this point in time. PokerStrategy is unable to accept members who are resident in the U.S. due to the current legal framework.

This restriction actually applies to both the starting capital and our 1st deposit sign up codes.

It is hoped that should the legal situation change in the future, then we will be able to review the situation further, but at the moment it is out of our hands.

We are sorry that we cannot help you at this time, but trust you will appreciate the difficult position that we find ourselves.

We do however wish you the very best of luck and enjoyment with your poker.

      Best regards,

      Bart

Thks 4 your response but thats not true.
I can sign-up with poker strategy, i just cant get the free money or bonus. Thats cool i understand whats going on.

But my problem is a want to be a bronze member so i can access the advanced learning articles. I already passed the school. And I want to learn more. I'm just asking is there any other way 4 me to become a bronze member?

I feel like this, since pokerstrategy is not giving out funds or anything to us players. Then u should atleast switch us to bronze members so we can study some articles. I love this site reguardless of whether I get any free money or bonuses. I love this site cause its the best poker school on the internet. My biggest problem is I can't access any more articles cause I'm not bronze member and I dont have the funds to play and get the strategy points.

I know its not this sites fault or my fault. Im just asking for something that would be ok for all parties. I think the us players thats signed up at this site would be ok being bronze members until the usa works out something. That way we can study and learn.

      Hey slicky,

Yes, I understand your viewpoint, but unfortunately we cannot do this.

With respect, I will re-emphasise, we cannot accept members to either the starting capital or the 1st deposit bonus.

The declaration you agree & sign up to clearly states that we cannot accept U.S. residents. Signing up to the deposit offers can also cause us legal problems and we therefore ask that you refrain from doing so.

Regarding Bronze status, all of the excellent strategy material does cost considerable resource, time, money etc to put together and are therefore only available to members, who contribute by playing poker through the linked accounts.

I would stress again that this is an unfortunate position PokerStrategy find themselves in, but beyond our control. Please don't take this personally.

Trust you will understand, but we all wish you good luck with your poker.

      thanks for your question.

In 2006 ,US lawmakers passed the so called Unlawful Internet Gambling
Act (UIGEA). While we believe that it does not apply to
PokerStrategy.com, as a legal precaution, we fully comply with it.
Thus it is our policy not to accept customers from the USA.

This means that we unfortunately cannot allow you to actively have an account at PokerStrategy.com.

With regards to our bonus codes we would like to ask you not to use
them. Since any bonus or promotion linked to the bonus code is
usually entirely up to the respective poker site, we are
unfortunately not able to offer you any further support or advice on
      this matter.

We would however like to advise you to carefully research
the respective federal and state laws that apply to you in order to
establish whether playing poker online is legally allowed in your
      jurisdiction and act accordingly.

      Best regards
