The basic strategy says you should enter tournaments worth 2% of your banroll.

      This means if you have $100 play the $1 SnG's. Because 2% of a 100 is 1.

Vasco911 - 2% of a $100 is actually $2 ;) That's why it's recommended to play the $1 buy ins when you have $50 and when you get to $100 you start playing the $2 SNGs.

As for Marbobley's query - many people will recommend playing the Short Stack Strategy (SSS) with such a bankroll. I personally as a SNG player would recommend playing the $1 SNGs at Full Tilt even though that's against the bankroll management. They are quite fishy and you don't need that high BR to play them. Also, if you can move the BankRoll to PokerStars, you can find the multitable SNGs (45 and 90 people) with $0.25 Buy In and you pay no rake to play them. There are also quite easy and a great way to give a boost to the bankroll. Hope this helps.

You should try matrix tournaments, if you have so small BR.

Can't do very good at matrix tournaments playing TAG (pokerstrategy) style because you have to KO a lot of people... they're pretty weird so I wouldn't advise playing them as a beginner.
