You always raise 5BB first-in? I hope you don't do it only with monsters.

Why do you check the flop? Make a cbet - they will call you with pockets, they will call you with a 7, they may try to bluff check/raise you, they may try floating with overs. I guess you want them to hit something, but firstly - they probably won't hit anything big like tptk since you have two aces already. Secondly - even if they do it will be hard to build the pot. And thirdly - you lose control of what's going on in the hand (like you did here).

On the turn you should bet as well - someone might have improved to a flush draw, if they called with 88-TT they will call again cause 3 is a blank for them. If you check, it should be with an intention of check/raise, not check/call.

As played you ahould probably fold the river, it's either a flush or a jack most of the times.

I dont know wether to laugh or cry. haha.

Ok, the reason I check/called was to keep the pot small as possible.
Obvs you can imagine how long I tanked on the river and then made a stupid crying call hoping he had 88+ (excluding J obvs).
And the 50c was a mis-click but its not really an issue for the hand.

Why do you want to keep the pot small on that flop? You usually have the best hand (only Jx and 77 are beating you), and you can make worse hands to pay (KK,QQ for sure, maybe even villain could call you with overcards or 88-TT).

As everyone said, c-betting here is mandatory you would avoid ugly spots like this one

Do the only reasonable thing and bet the flop, then come back and post the hand if you get in trouble anywhere :f_cool:
