I am trying to learn and master hu play on poker stars because the players are quite bad. So am I but better than them. Is it possible to get a subsection in SNG for HU and maybe right some articles for HU play?

      Hi Toby,

I'll move this into the Feedback & Suggestions board for you as it is more likely to be seen by the Admins/those that can consider your question.

      Best regards,

Maybe special HU section for HU SNGs would be great. Because with $50+$100 you could safely play $2.20 HU SNGs (about 50 buy-ins which is ok for HU SNGs). But for cash it should stay gold+ members because the chance to lose all ur BR there is more plausible.

It could be a good idea. I think many people play them, and they can def be very profitable. From my experience it's quite low variance too, so I agree that it could easily be done with the starting capital, if there were some articles on it.

It dependes on how you play it!! In MY experience the less people at the table the more variance you will get. Even if only cause you play more blinds!!

Personally, I think timu's got this spot on. Gold or similar is the best way forward as it's obviously a little more specialised than standard sss for a starter to pick up.

Good question/suggestion by the OP and well raised. See what others think?

      Hello TobyCS,

Thank you for the feedback. In order to make a new sub-section for HU SNGs there needs to be sufficient potential traffic for it (which would be shown by e.g. lots of traffic in HU threads in the current SNG discussion forum) and articles + videos on the topic.

I will ask the education department if there are any articles in the planning since at the moment we only have one or two videos on HU SNGs.

      Best regards

      Hello Primzi,

I would suggest the following article: http://www.pokerstrategy.com/strategy/fixed-limit/1350/

Since FL HU is largely about adapting to opponents and mastering the various postflop concepts covered in the platinum section it is hard to write too much about it.

I think active forum discussion, hand posting and videos are more valuable for HU game than articles are.

      Best regards

I am in between being rude to you or just plain :f_eek: . I just pointed out the fact that people cannot think HU is low variance cause it's not!! Don't have much S'N'G experience, but i can see a noob multitabling HU and just getting CRUSHED. Multitabling is a part of online poker, and noobs just want to add more and more tables "to get rich faster", and in a HU match that's just :f_love: for me!!

I certainly think HU SnG's are low variance. You don't multitable that heavily in HU, cause then you become automatic, which you don't want to be. Play 1 or 2 tables and adapt to your opponent. And be patient.

I have no experience playing HU NL S'n'G's so i have to take you're word for it!! :f_p: Just the thought of playing HU in a NL environment makes my head go on tilt :f_cool: But maybe the S'n'G structure more than makes for the variance i always thought NLHU had in cash games!! ;)

I've played lots of HU SnG's and you will find all different types of players in them.

I suggest the double up tournaments to build a br.

The topic is about HU SNGs and not HU cash games. We already have a forum for that... And since you have no experience in HU SNGs you can't say that they have high/low variance, also the fact that you pay blinds all the time in a HU SNG doesn't affect it's variance.
