      That guy is probably only calling the turn with Ax, 66, 8x, 97. Since you only beat Ax and you'll get shoved on by the hands that beat you, you can bet a little less to ensure you get calls from top pairs and to make it easier for you to find a fold should you be behind.

      Remember, pot odds are meaningless when you're always beat. Very few players would take that line with a top pair, and you said yourself you doubt that guy ever would. If you're confident enough in your read, save yourself the money. If you're not, pay him off and get some information for cheap, until you're good enough not to need it anymore. I'd likely fold given the usual slowplaying line from a bad player and his low AF/WTSD stats, but then again i didn't play with him so you know more than i do.
