      I'd likely raise the turn instead, his most likely hands for making smallish bets like that are either Ax or flushdraws, he won't fold any of those, you're ahead of both and you're in position. I'd make it like $10 and fire again pretty large on a blank river, because the only way he's calling is if he has Ax, and if he does he'll probably call it whether you make it 1/2 or 2/3. On a spade river this is dicey if he leads into you big (if he leads small just call), i don't expect him to fire big without the flush so i'd muck it. If he checks to you valuebet like 1/2, the board became a little scarier but he probably still won't lay down Ax for that price.

      As played your raise is fine, he likely won't fold Ax unless you make it really big, you can probably go up to something like $18 without scaring him too much. Don't ever smoothcall in that spot against these players, you'd miss a lot of value.
