      Without reads it's hard to tell really, it depends on what you think that guy ends up with on the river and how aggressive he is.

      If he peels the flop with trash and ends up with air on the river often, after you checked twice he might pot it if he's aggressive or he might just give it up if he's just passive.

      If he only calls the flop with a piece of the board then he'll likely be happy to see a showdown with anything worse than your hand on the river since he didn't bet the turn, meaning if he bets on the river he's got you a lot of the time.

      Since he checked behind the turn i don't think he's that aggressive with air so i would feel fine just check/folding. Your line can't be qualified as "stupid" against an unknown imo if you don't have a reason for either check/folding or check/calling, it's a fine middle ground.
