      Hi all,

Im planning of giving live poker a go seeing as im enjoying it online.

I think im going to be going to Dusk Till Dawn beginners night £10 + £4.

Should I approach live poker any different to online poker.

I do quite well at SnGs so should i keep that sort of strategy.

Also would DTD be a good place to start, I'm a member of Gala Casino if anyone has been there for a poker tourny

      Thanks :f_biggrin:

I personally find live play a lot easier myself. Online you have very little information to use when deciding what calls to make. This leads to having to play by the book poker such as the strategies poker strategy teaches. While this is good strategy and can help you become a succesful player, it leaves out one of my favorite aspects of poker.... reading peoples body language. It takes some practice, but watch peoples mannerism's, if you look close enough you will find that some of them will do the same things when they have very strong hands everytime, likewise they will do something else everytime they are bluffing.

Mastering this will help you do very very well in live play.

      Good luck with it.

take your time in live poker ;) first 30minutes study your opponents, find the fish. also make a great table image, because they will be studying u too... at the beginning be very tight, they will notice it and it will help your bluffs.
      gl :f_grin:
...almost forgot. if u think someone is bluffing but you aint sure, look at his neck, his bloodpressure will rise and you will see it by his artery, it will give a lot of information. know it has helped me a alot

Hey im from notts too, been there a few times now. It can be quite a fishy place DTD though, particularly at the begginer tournament. I remember entering the same tourney, action was as follows

      UTG1 Women - 4 bets

everyone else folds and im in bb with JJ. I push (she was well loose and I knew I was more than likely good against most her range). She tanks for a while before calling and flips over a9o (oh dear!!)....and of course the a hit the river, goodbye :(

Having said that the place is awesome...heard they might be going under soon due to gambling taxes, which I hope dosen't happen.

      Great place good atmosphere etc

      Came 19th out of 99

Was all in with AQ vs A6 and he hit the 6 as well as the Ace.
