Hey! I started playing shorthanded a few days ago with limited success. There are a few things I am wondering about. Before I even say these I would like to say that I know it is situational but if you were playing against 5 unknowns what would you do.

      1. What are some examples of hands where you call BB?
      2. What are the best hands you should fold UTG?
      3. What are the worst hands you should steal with in late position?

      Thank you!

      1. Opponent dependant, but its better to raise the BB then to call. Unless you have a post-flop edge. Villain BU stealing range is wide sometimes, by raising you can narrow it. Calling is not that great since you only hit 33% of the time and are OOP and not aggressor.
Like I will re-raise PPs, AJ+, some suited connectors etc.

      2. KJo when you have calling stations after you.

      3. 45s roughly. I remember I raised CO with that once to mix it up a little.

Overall SH is heavily table and opponent dependant. You only roughly follow certain hand ranges. Different players change these.

Pre-flop play is very important in SH and you goto adjust to the people at your table.

      Thanks for the great answers.

Should you raise A10, A9 UTG?
