      MP1 lost -$1.10

I checked the flop to disguise my hand strength. I also figured that the only hands that would have stayed against me had I bet would have been Kx -- high pocket pairs would probably have 3-bet me preflop.

The J on the turn opened up a lot of draw possibilities, so I led out with a half-pot bet to build the pot and actually give him odds to call.

Finally, I made the value bet on the river in the hopes that he had completed his flush draw if he was on one. Unfortunately, the fish didn't bite.

Was my reasoning sound, and should I have played it differently?

When I flop quads, I normally slowplay until the river if I have position, and hope that my opponent's hand improves on the turn and bet, I call and shove the river.

At the river I would always shove all in if I couldn't get them to bet earlier, because if I don't shove, I don't get paid.

you should start out building pot against Kx, so you should bet 0.7$ on the flop; 1/2 on the turn and shove river
don´t think you gain a lot more if you check back flop, since they wouldn´t take often enough stabs on that board
