I was chatting with a buddy yesterday and we were arguing about what to do in this scenario?

      No Limit Holdem Tournament
      $4.00+$0.40
      9 players
      Converted at weaktight.com

      Stacks:
      UTG (1500)
      UTG+1 (1500)
      MP1 (1500)
      MP2 (1500)
      MP3 (1500)
      (CO) (1500)
      BTN (1500)
      SB (1500)
      Hero BB (1500)

      Blinds: 10/20

      Pre-flop: (30, 9 players) Hero is BB A:club: A :diamond:

UTG moves all in for 1500 chips, UTG+1 calls 1500 and is all in, MP1 calls 1500 and is all in, MP2 calls 1500 and is all in, MP3 calls 1500 and is all in, CO calls 1500 and is all in, BTN calls 1500 and is all in, SB calls 1500 and is all in

      Hero?

For me it makes a difference depending on the format...

So what would you do in a:

      1. STT?
      2. MTT?
      2. NL cash game?

In a cash game it's obviously a call, same for MTT, because these stack sizes show it's early = far from the money, considering cEV = $EV is not bad. In a 50/30/20 STT it's a fold.

      Agree with all of that.

Im a STT player and even if there were 3 players all in it would be a fold, early in a STT you need around 65% to make a allin call, in this senario you have around 20 %

just by folding you garentee yourself second place..asuming there is not a split pot

Imo, although I still got lots to learn:

      1. STT? Fold, worst case scenario folding, you are still second.
      2. MTT? Call this early.
      2. NL cash game? Call.

Well, your Aces aren't suited. So fold

      :f_eek:
      :P

      STT: Fold
      MTT: Call
      Cash: Call

OK... so most people agree, and so do I with the above... now the second part to this scenario... Can anyone assign ranges to each player? Given only one assumption... Players will not just shove any 2, but are willing to gamble for a big pot...

LOL I had this problem when I tried to equilate this =p

      Anyway I'd think range could be 22+, Ax+, 54s+, KTo+, QTo+, JTo+, K6s+, Q7s+, J8s+, something like that...

But I don't see much of a point on thinking about strict ranges for each player, since this is all theoretical...
