      Hi community,

As you may have guessed by the thread's title, the topic here is the forming of a Poker-fraternity (ie. several people sharing the same apartment).

Some of you might already know me from the german forum. I'm 19 years old and am currently in the 13th grade of the german secondary school .

At the moment I'm living in the francophone (south) part of Belgium. I'll be going to university in 2011 in Germany (I'm German).

After graduating from high school however I'd first like to spend a year in a foreign country. My primary objective is to make new experiences, to improve my language skills and to meet nice people. In general I simply want to expand my horizon. With this in mind, I'd like to start an international Poker flat share, with several different languages represented. I personally speak German, English and French. Other languages are of course welcome.

      But enough about me!

I can imagine that others in this forum are thinking of the same thing. I'm looking for people who want to spend a year in a foreign country as much as I do. People who are open to new cultures and want to make new experiences. :)

      To summarise:
I'm looking for people with whom I can rent an apartment and who want to spend a year in a foreign country (doesn't matter where), while playing lots of poker and getting to know the new country and people. It would be nice if you could at least beat NL100 and are motivated towards improving your skills

I'm looking forward to answers and opinions :s_grin:

There is a thread similar to this in our Diamond Forum so I can say that yes, there are people who are/may be interested. I think Malta was the first destination mentioned.

As for myself, I would be up for something like this but only when Spring rolls around. I already have some sweet-ass plans and am spending the whole winter Skiing deep powder snow in America (and playing poker) The perfect complement to this would be learning to surf all summer etc.

I wish you luck in finding a cool house and housemates for your poker year abroad! Have Fun!

This sounds awesome I would love to spend time somewhere else than in Canada but sadly as a broke student this wouldn't be an option...at least not this year.

There is poker here in the riverland area of south Australia.
A few free games and a few buy in events that lead to a regional, state and grand final event. There is no casino (although the nearest is over the border about an hour away, not sure what the set up is like) but there are a few home games that pop up depending on your bankroll.

Rent is pretty cheap, and there is always seasonal work around in the vineyards or fruit groves.

For info on the games, try http://www.888pl.com.au and go through to SA and finally riverland.

I can't believe that nobody is interested. In the french and german forum there are a lot of people who want to move to australia for one year. Don't hesitate to write something. :)

im considering it, but i was actually going back to school early next year.
i make around 4k$ a month and have some savings so it wouldnt be a problem. i just need to really think it through because on the other hand i would also like to finish school.

anyway im not going to make any plans until i am certain that i am not going back to school.

i previously lived a year abroad working and i can really recommend it to anyone else who might be considering it.

u only play NL100 and are sure of moving already?!

anyway, u can add me on skype "cibicekj" /TheLastNail from Slovakia/

we are 2 guys with a good chance of renting a villa or some other very "decent" appartment in Malta /together with TwiceT-also a coach in here, u might know him/

at the moment we heavily prefer Malta as a base stay for many reasons, with some nice trips all over the world most prolly :P

I am certainly not moving to Australia tho :)

A nuclear bomb, once you stay there for a long time you'll die because of the effects.
