      In my opinion you can't do anything. You are protecting your hand with potsize bets and you have to get the money in while you are ahead. :) Same happens to me often.

      You played it fine, it's just variance.

      If you think the players behind you are aggressive enough that at least one of them will open the betting, then you can go for a check/raise there too with the idea of getting more money in the pot right away and going broke before the board gets ugly if somebody so wishes.
