I really like this site I think it's amazing for new beginners like myself and some people on here have tried to teach me the things I need to know. I know it's the best 5 cards but I still cannot understand all the splits, some I can.

Is there a tutorial video on this because sometimes I get it sometimes I don't.. Besides that I understand the rankings and everything else thanks guys

The best way to describe a split pot is: The combination of the players hole cards and the the community cards. The best 5 cards win. So if you have 77 and the board is Q,10,Q,9,10 you are only playing the board since you can only use 5 cards to make your hand. And since you cant have 3 pairs, yours is cancelled out. Furthermore since there is an over card (9) to your 7, you are playing the board. If you were up against someone with A2 in there hand they would win with Q,Q,10,10,A.

      Understand?

      Hello philiveyfan,

The cards that make up the hand are the best 5 card combination with the board and your 2 cards. You DO NOT have to use your whole cards.

If the board is QQQQA and you have 99 the 5 card hand out of all of them is QQQQA (4 of a kind Q's with A kicker).

If the board is AKA9K and you have T9 the best possible hand out of the cards AAKK99T is AAKKT (2 pair, Aces and Kings with a T kicker). If some had Q7 the cards they have are AAKKQ97 and the best possible hand for them is AAKKQ (2 pair, Aces and Kings with a Queen kicker. The Q kicker is higher than yours so they will win. Your pair of 9's doesnt even matter.

I think collaboratively we have made it as simple as possible and i hope you get it know. Also please do not create more threads about this topic.

      Good luck and best regards,

      -Jack
