Uh, where to begin? I guess at the start's as good a place as any.

Right, I got into poker many moons ago watching Late Night Poker on Channel 4. This naturally led to online poker 7 years ago when I lived in Edinburgh. I played online for around 3 years with middling success, ups and downs, you know.

Then I moved to Newcastle, ended up in a shared house and found playing online a lot harder as I had a lot less free time. You know how it is, socialising with the new people I've met (getting drunk) and trying not to be an unsociable sort. Anyway, I digress. I ended up playing live and have been a live cash game player for around 3 years, again with varying success.

Now I've moved in with my girlfriend and, I'm sure there's a lot of us in the same position, she sort of frowns upon me galavanting to the casino 6 times a week until 6am like I used to. She says something about spending quality time together, or something similar...not too sure.

So now I'm looking to get back into online poker and thought this place would be the ideal place to begin. If it's not, let me know ;)

Hi Mantaur and welcome to PokerStrategy,

I totally agree with you and personally think you've made a good decision as PokerStrategy offers so much back to players.

In addition to the free starting capital (which of course is a very nice start), we provide free live coaching sessions with experienced and friendly coaches, lots of awesome strategy material, guides and videos and a really friendly forum.

You'll find lots of like minded members here that are all keen to help each other improve and develop their poker games. We also have a good laugh sometimes too.

So yeah, all in all I think you'll be really happy here and it's really good to see you join our happy community.

Good luck with your poker and we all look forward to hearing how you get on in due course.

      Best regards,

      Hello Mantaur and welcome to!

That was quite a nice story, so thanks for sharing! :f_p:

Since you just got here, I suggest you take a look at some of the areas in our site:

      - the News section which contains all sorts of information regarding the poker scene, our own updates and various freerolls and promotions
      - the Strategy section where you can read our strategy articles
      - the Video section where you can watch instructional poker videos
      - the Coaching section where you can attend free public coaching sessions with our members

Also, since you are from the UK, you might want to take a look in this thread, where you should find some more fellow British players:
      Good ol' England
