Hand recorder used for this poker hand: Elephant 0.69 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is BU with 8:heart: , 8:club:
      UTG1 folds, UTG2 calls $0.25, MP1 calls $0.25, MP2 folds, MP3 calls $0.25, CO folds, Hero raises to $4.65 (All-In), 3 folds, MP1 calls $4.40, MP3 folds.

      Final Pot: $10.15

A lot of limpers... The only thing I was afraid was a trap... Other than that, maybe someone has 99 or TT and is limping for value.

So, if someone calls I'm most likely in a coin flip with dead money. I didn't want to play this postflop. so I just shoved.

What do you think about it? Correct shove?

it should be ok to shove here.

don't think guys with 99/TT can really call.

The only thing you need to be afraid of are those guys that like to limp monsters.

But i think a raise is also possible here since we're on the button and very much in position. We can still fold if someone re-raises, and its still possible to take this hand down with c-bets post flop if the flop is nice.

If i'm on the blinds, i'd definitely just push it tho.

      Hey santostr,

nice hand. 77/88 sucks to play postflop and you will be commited on any flop if you make a standard raise, so push is the best option by far, specially with less than 20BBs.

Of course sometimes opponents will show you monster or 99+, but they limp so many worse hands than yours that push is very ++EV.

      Regards,
