Ok, so I just tried to download the CakePoker software and my antivirus (Avast) detected a virus, it detected a trojan. So is it safe to download the software? Anyone getting the same problem?

Are you sure you downloaded it directly from the cake poker website?

If so it may be a false-positive. Thousands of people use cake poker so its a trusted program. I don't see why it would be infected with a Trojan.

Be sure to download client only on cake poker web page, check link twice.

But in general that happens, Nod32 found something in pokerstars install file, was forced to change AV.

      Hi zeneil,

As the others have already confirmed, there shouldn't be a problem with downloading this software as long as you ensure you are downloading the official version from the official website (or PokerStrategy link where required).

Sometimes the poker software comes packaged with casino type games and some of the security software pick up on these. I had a similar issue with Norton antivirus and Titan poker, but it's just a safety measure and can be manually overridden where you are happy with the originator.

      Best regards,

You have to be very careful with CakePoker.

Before downloading the program, they make wild promises about a big cash reward that's waiting for you. The only thing you have to do however to receive that amount of money, is deposit money of your own and play some sort of game. It sounds a bit like a Nigerian cash scam if you ask me.
