      I guess I should've bet the turn to charge straight/flush draws. I checked the turn for pot control then C/C the river.

      Yes, bet/fold the turn. He's bad and probably passive since he limp/called, he will call again with worse hands on the turn and rarely if ever check/raise you with worse, so it's a pretty safe play. Coupled with the fact that these players usually won't bet a worse hand by themselves on the river either (sometimes they'll bet Ax but they would call your turn bet with it anyway), you're almost always beat when you call the river, which means you're trading a line that lets you bet and get called by worse hands for a line where you end up calling a bet from better hands.
